About the job

Will you contribute to the enforcement and development of safety in all matters relating to storage and handling of ammunition and explosives in the Defence?

You will here have a very special opportunity for an exciting job in a dynamic and developing time, where many human qualities come into play. Welcome with us, we look forward to you starting!

About us

The Danish Defence Acquisition and Materiel Agency (FMI) functions as a material-technical knowledge centre and logistical authority for the entire Defence Ministry Group. It is the agency's task to acquire, maintain and develop material capabilities for all defence authorities, from battle tanks, ships and fighter jets to uniforms.

The Authority Section is responsible for ensuring insight into and advising on legislation, international and national rules within personnel- and material-safety. The section handles tasks corresponding to civilian competent authorities. We can grant and withdraw permits and exemptions in compliance with the law, provisions, rules etc.

The exercise of authority is carried out on behalf of the Defence Material Inspector by the section's security inspectors within the fields: ship safety, vehicle safety, explosive safety, weapons safety, occupational safety, and transport of dangerous goods.

About the position

You will play a central role in all areas of explosive safety, and you will contribute to building knowledge and competencies among key personnel in the Defence.

You will provide advisory input in connection with material procurements and prepare directives and guidelines for the exercise of the various authority tasks that FMI is mandated to perform. You will plan, supervise and conduct inspections in accordance with laws, standards and provisions. As part of the task, recording, reporting and documentation also follow along.

You will assist in obtaining and assessing the documentation that forms the basis for the final safety approval of ammunition items before they are handed over for use.

You will become part of a larger section of highly professionally motivated employees, all working to ensure that all personnel under the Defence Ministry have the safest possible material. The section often works across disciplines, as the complexity of weapon systems means that new initiatives often affect several areas at once.

The job will involve up to about 25 travel days per year for meetings and tests domestically and abroad, as well as in relation to inspections and supervision at Defence units and service locations.

Competence-building for the position can also involve periods in and outside the country at relevant educational institutions.
