Rygårdcentret opened the new department Birkelunden in September 2026. Birkelunden is a department for people with varying somatic and cognitive challenges. Birkelunden is therefore seeking engaged substitutes to join a professionally strong team with a good sense of community.

About the job

As a substitute you step in when we need extra hands, e.g. during holidays, days off, public holidays, peak periods, weekends and at festive occasions.

Your main tasks will be a good mix of care, practical help and, not least, meaningful moments with our residents. Together with your colleagues you share responsibility for our residents.

Your tasks will include

• Personal care and assistance (help with dressing and undressing, personal hygiene etc.)
• Practical tasks (tidying, table setting, light cleaning, dishes etc.)
• Documentation (electronic acknowledgement of tasks and free text about observations of residents etc.)
• Delegated health services (medication administration, skin care, compression stockings etc.)
• Meals (set up and serve meals, support with eating and congenial company at mealtimes etc.)
• Activities and presence (walks, games, conversation and support to maintain an active everyday life)

We are looking for someone who

• Is responsible, curious, proactive and empathetic.
• Is reliable, punctual and flexible.
• Is good at communicating and can listen to the individual.
• Can work independently, but also be good at collaborating.
• Maybe you are currently pursuing a health education (e.g., nurse, SOSU or similar)

Rygårdcentret consists of four departments with different target groups and professional profiles. Egelunden 1st floor, Birkelunden and Kastanjelunden each have 20 nursing home beds. Poppelunden houses 22 specialized places, while Egelunden 2nd floor has 20 apartments, of which 10 are particularly allocated to younger citizens with dementia. In total, Rygårdcentret has 102 apartments.
