We are seeking a nurse for a permanent position who wants to become part of a well-functioning team at the Local Psychiatry Varde.

Local Psychiatry Varde

We work in pleasant premises at the former Varde hospital, located in the centre of Varde.

The train from Esbjerg stops right outside the hospital.

Our target group

In Local Psychiatry Varde, adults from 18 to 69 years are assessed and treated, including those with various psychiatric disorders.

In September 2024, regional psychiatry gradually began taking over responsibility for treatment of substance use for the group of citizens who have both psychiatric problems and concurrent misuse.

We have hired skilled clinicians to assist us with implementing this task, and we are well on the way.

Two teams – who are we

We are split into two general teams, which are multidisciplinary and composed of doctors, psychologists, SSA, nurses, social workers, occupational therapists, physiotherapist, dietitian, peer workers and a service manager.

The two teams are called F-ACT teams and work according to the F-ACT model. This means that the clinicians in the two teams are flexible when there is a need for outreach treatment in the local environment and the intervention is adapted to the individual citizen.

Example of a working day

Every morning we meet to create an overview of the day's tasks at our morning meeting. Thereafter you meet in your F-ACT team, where you can receive daily sparring and support from colleagues and the responsible physician.

We have weekly conferences, training and other professional forums from time to time.

You will gradually become a contact person and primary caregiver for a number of citizens.

The tasks may include

• Carrying out individual counseling sessions with citizens with various disorders
• Motivational interviewing conversations
• To participate in assessment
• Possibly support for and follow-up on medical treatment
• Psychoeducation regarding the citizen's disorder and other problems
• Conversations may sometimes take place in the citizen's own home
• Collaboration with relatives is highly valued
• Some clinicians conduct group treatment programs

We work from several therapeutic reference frameworks, but all will be trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) over time.

Partners

We collaborate, among other things, with Psychiatric Acute Admissions, inpatient ward in adult psychiatry, Esbjerg, general practitioners and the Center for Misuse. There is close collaboration with social workers and support staff in Varde Municipality regarding the individual citizen.

We have, among other things, a collaboration with Varde Municipality on "Together for Psychiatry" and with the municipality's IPS consultants.

Excellent working hours

The 37 hours are distributed as follows

Monday-Wednesday from 8:00-15:00, Thursday from 8:00-18:00 and Friday from 8:00-14:00.

We are looking for a colleague who

• Is a trained nurse. Ideally with specialist education, but not a requirement
• Has experience from treating citizens with substance use
• Preferably with psychiatric experience from general psychiatry or child and adolescent psychiatry (not a requirement)
• Has good collaboration skills, can work independently and with the ability to handle a sometimes unpredictable day
• Is open to professional development and feedback
• Willing to contribute to maintaining a good working environment
• Driving license B

Salary

The region is obliged to inform you of the starting salary for the position. You will be provided with the base salary, centrally fixed allowances and pension in: Agreement for Non-Management Staff in the Health Cartel area 32.17.1 - salary as of 1.4.2026
