Area Managers for Green Operations at Entreprenørgården

At Entreprenørgården, the green operations are entering a new organization, where we strengthen both the professional leadership and daily staff leadership. Going forward the management will consist of a park manager with the professional responsibility and two area managers with responsibility for daily personnel and operations management.

Therefore we are now seeking two area managers for Green Drift (Green Operations) at Entreprenørgården.

As an area manager you will be the line manager for a portion of the staff in Green Drift and will have responsibility for planning, coordination and follow-up on the daily operations. The exact distribution of staff and tasks between the two area managers will be determined in connection with the new organization.

About the job Green Drift handles a wide range of tasks across the entire municipality of Assens. The duties include, among others, maintenance of green areas, public spaces, sports facilities, institutions, playgrounds, dog forests, control of invasive species, waste management, operation of public toilets, etc.

In addition, Green Drift handles smaller construction and establishment tasks, including new developments, renovation and development of green areas, planting and other green facilities.

There are also various service and ad hoc tasks for the municipality's other departments.

Your main tasks

As an area manager you will be responsible for the daily operations within your area. You must be close to the task execution, follow the work in practice and, together with the staff, make everyday life function.

Your primary tasks will be

• Daily planning and prioritization of tasks
• Personnel management and ongoing follow-up with the staff
• Coordination of staffing, equipment and other resources
• Follow-up on quality and economy
• Working environment, well-being and sickness absence
• Coordination and collaboration across teams and disciplines

Entreprenørgården also handles the municipality's winter preparedness. As an area manager you should expect to participate in the on-call service in connection with winter preparedness, which means that you may in periods have to work outside normal working hours, including evenings, nights and weekends.

With us, leadership takes place close to operations. You not only follow up from a distance, but you participate in the practical daily life when needed. This gives you insight into the tasks and makes you a natural link between staff, operations and management.

You have an eye for how the staff's different strengths and areas of expertise are best utilized, and you actively contribute to good collaboration both within the team and across the green drift. You communicate clearly, listen, and meet people with respect for our differences.

At the same time you create structure and overview in daily life. You plan, prioritize and follow up so that tasks, agreements and responsibilities are solved and carried through. You can delegate responsibilities and create the framework that gives staff the opportunity to take ownership and succeed in their tasks.

And you should be enthusiastic about developing and improving the way we work. You should be curious about possibilities, look for good solutions and contribute positively when we need to do something differently or better.

Part of a leadership community You will become part of a close leadership community with the other area manager and the park manager. Although you each have responsibility for your own staff and tasks, you should view Green Drift as one unified task. Together you share responsibility for a well-functioning green drift, where collaboration, sparring and shared responsibility are central values.

We expect you to actively contribute with your knowledge and perspectives, while working loyally for joint decisions and solutions. Together you share resources, help each other across and focus on delivering the best results for staff, operations and the organization.

Who are you? You have green professional experience and preferably an education as a gardener or similar. You have a solid understanding of the operation and maintenance of green areas and can engage in qualified dialogue with both staff and the park manager. Experience with construction work and establishment of green areas will be an advantage.

You have experience with leadership or potential to take on a leadership role. The most important thing is that you can see yourself in a leadership role where presence, collaboration and accountability are central values.

You thrive in an operations organization where daily life does not always go as planned, and where there is ongoing need to create coherence between tasks, staff and resources.

If you have experience with municipal green operations, it would be an advantage, but it is not a requirement.

About Entreprenørgården Entreprenørgården is the municipality of Assen's executing operations organization with headquarters in Aarup. We are about 70 staff with different professional backgrounds, solving various practical operational and maintenance tasks across the municipality.

In addition to the green drift, Entreprenørgården handles tasks within road maintenance, sewerage, winter service and rodent control. We also have our own workshop responsible for maintenance of machinery and vehicles.

Green Drift consists of about 38 staff who have different meeting places around the municipality. This means that staff work geographically dispersed, and leadership, coordination and collaboration must function across both work sites and teams.

Salary and terms of employment These are two full-time positions with start date 1 January 2027.

Salary and terms of employment are in accordance with the applicable collective agreement and based on local salary formation principles.
