A gardener position / gardener's assistant position with sexton duties at Vejen Church

The position as gardener/gardener's assistant at Vejen Cemetery, Vejen Parish is vacant and can be taken up as soon as possible.

The position is 37 hours per week.

The work includes

· maintenance and care of Askov, Læborg and Vejen Cemeteries. The work is carried out together with the other staff at the cemetery

· hedge trimming

· lawn mowing

· cleaning of gravesites and areas

· construction tasks in the form of grave installations and changes in park areas

· pruning tasks of shrubs and trees

· driving a mini loader, small excavator, forklift, leaf vacuum and other machines at the cemeteries

· the sexton function includes participation in church services and cleaning of the church premises.

We have a modern fleet of machines for handling the tasks both at the cemetery and for coffin handling in the chapel and church.

In the position as gardener/gardener's assistant with sexton duties, weekend work will naturally occur. For applicants who do not have the education as a sexton, there will be a training course. The sexton duties are paid separately.

Employment is with Vejen Parish Council, located at Nørregade 96, 6600 Vejen.

Employment and pay are governed by the Joint Agreement between the Ministry of Finance and Public Employees’ Organizations (OAO-S) and the Organizational Agreement for agricultural helpers, gardener workers, gardeners and research assistants entered into between the Ministry of Finance and the Fagligt Fælles Forbund (3F). The agreements can be viewed at www.folkekirkenspersonale.dk .

The annual salary is 325,618 DKK (step 1) and 335,368 DKK (step 2) for gardeners (current prices). For gardener workers 283,607 DKK (step 1) and 291,526 DKK (step 2) (current prices). Pay is on an hourly basis, and after 5 months of uninterrupted employment with the same employer there is a transition to monthly pay. The parish council will make seniority-based placement.
