About the job
Assistant manager – do you want to help create well-being, quality and meaning?
Do you want to be involved in leading with person-centered care as a fundamental premise? Then come and join Ikast-Brande municipality where we are currently looking for one assistant manager at one of our largest care centers – Engparken and Daghjem Brande.
Engparken is a care center in the middle of Brande. We have 45 residences and a day care – we are about 50 employees in a multidisciplinary staff group – and we may be right for you https://engparken.ikast-brande.dk/. We have a strong professional learning environment with a focus on competence development, quality and learning in relationships – if you can see yourself in it, we would love to hear from you. With us, learning is created in close cooperation between residents, relatives, volunteers, colleagues, managers and the organization. Even when it is difficult and busy.
We are looking for an engaged and professionally strong assistant manager who, together with the daily manager and the staff, will help create a safe, meaningful and dignified everyday life for our residents.
With us, person-centered care is an important foundation for our work. We see the individual person and bases on the resident's life, wishes, needs and resources.
We work purposefully to create coherence, well-being and meaning for the individual resident – every single day.
As assistant manager you will have a central role in both daily operations, staff well-being and professional development .
You must be close to residents and staff – and at the same time able to lift your gaze, see the whole and contribute to development, change and organizational direction.
A leadership role we create together
We believe that strong leadership is created in collaboration. Therefore we are not looking for an assistant manager who simply steps into a fixed defined role.
We want to create a strong leadership community, where we together find the best distribution of responsibility and competencies.
You will have the opportunity to influence culture, operations, professional quality and development , and your concrete competence and responsibility areas will be developed in dialogue with the daily manager and based on both the organization's needs – and in what you are particularly good at .
We believe that leadership becomes strongest when different competencies and perspectives are brought into play.
Which competencies you bring into our leadership community?
We see four central competence areas in the role
- People and relationships
You can create trust, presence and followership and work in an appreciative and person-centered way.
- Professionalism and quality
You have a healthcare professional background and can support high professional quality and translate professional ambitions into good practice.
- Operations and prioritization
You can create overview, prioritise and align resources, needs and tasks – even when everyday life is complex.
- Development and change
You can create meaning and engagement when we develop and change our practice. You can involve staff, create followership and hold to the direction – even when changes take time or meet resistance.
Person-centered leadership and care cross all four areas.
We are curious about what you bring. You do not need to be strong in all areas. Maybe you have special competencies in professional development, maybe you are strong in operations and structure, or perhaps you are passionate about people, culture and change. The most important is that you want to take responsibility, develop yourself and actively use your competencies in a shared leadership space.
We can offer
- An exciting and diverse position as assistant manager with the opportunity to help shape both the role and our continued development.
- A chance to influence culture, professionalism and operations together with the daily manager and the staff.
- Skilled and engaged staff who work from the basis of person-centered care as a professional foundation.
- A close and rewarding collaboration with the manager, staff, residents, relatives and volunteers.
- A leadership community characterized by openness, reflection, trust and mutual sparring.
- Opportunity to develop your leadership skills and take a relevant leadership education if you do not already have one.
- An exciting organization where HEDEKRAFT is one of our core values.
We imagine that you
- Are health-professionally trained.
- Have leadership experience – preferably supplemented with a leadership education – or are motivated to undertake a leadership education.
- Work in an appreciative, person-centered and curious way.
- Are present, clear and accessible in your leadership.
- Can create followership and translate goals and decisions into action in practice.
- Can balance safe operations with development and change and at the same time create followership among the staff.
- Have experience with or an interest in change management and can create meaning, direction and engagement when new ways of working, requirements or professional initiatives must be implemented.
- Can handle resistance and different perspectives constructively and maintain direction, even when changes take time.
- Can lead upwards, downwards and across the organization and build good relationships around you.
- Have experience with – or a desire to – work with data as a basis for development, quality and managerial decisions.
- Can see yourself in the municipality's leadership foundation and DNA and want to translate it into good leadership in everyday life.
You do not need to be able to do it all from the start. The most important is that you want to take responsibility, learn, develop and achieve results together with others.
Leadership with presence, direction and courage
For us, good leadership is about
Being close to people.
Creating clear direction.
Having the courage to develop and change.
We do not believe that the good leader must have all the answers. We believe in curiosity, reflection and learning together.
As assistant manager you must therefore both be able to stand strong in yourself and be an active part of the community.
You must be able to listen and challenge, create calm and set direction – and be able to see opportunities when something should be done in a new way.
If you are motivated to make a difference for people, to create strong professional communities and to help develop both culture and practice, we look forward to hearing from you.
