The school

You will become part of a school with about 1,000 students distributed across grades 1-10 and with 9 special classes. We are a completely new school in development and in the coming years we will have a strong focus on 21st-century skills, project-based learning, team collaboration, quality development and strengthening the students' academic level.

The school's vision is to create students who can be creative, cooperative, think critically, have digital literacy, have good communication skills and who can work across disciplines.

The school's vision for learning environments is to; increase academic achievement, stimulate learning and well-being for the individual, support a different kind of learning than the traditional one and to create a teaching environment where we base it on each student's needs and give the student a desire to learn.

The school currently consists of 92 staff members distributed across 4 departments, i.e. grades 1-3, 4-7, 8-10 and a special department. We are looking for

At present we are seeking a teacher for grade 4, special class, with various competencies and who can teach in different subjects in the oldest grades.

You must be prepared for close teamwork with the other teachers in the team and in the department as well as close contact with parents.

Criminal and child protection checks

The position is subject to the Act on the obligation to obtain criminal and child protection checks. In accordance with the law, employment may only begin when the municipality has received satisfactory criminal and child protection checks. We must therefore point out that the start date can only be agreed when the municipality has received a child protection certificate from the police and a criminal record from the Police.

The child protection certificate is obtained by the municipality with the consent of the person, where the criminal record is obtained by the individual from the Police.

Salary and employment terms

Salary and employment terms are in accordance with the applicable collective agreement between the Greenlandic Self-Government, in accordance with the agreement/collective agreement in force at the time of recruitment between the Greenlandic Self-Government and the concerned negotiating organization.

The employment will be with a 3-month probationary period.

Housing

For the position, staff housing can be allocated, for which a deposit and rent, utilities, etc. are paid according to the current rules for rent payments in the Greenlandic Self-Government's and the municipality's properties in Greenland. If permanent staff housing cannot be made available immediately at the time of appointment, temporary vacant housing will be offered to employees with a right to vacant housing, for which rent, utilities, etc. are paid as above. The start date depends on when staff housing is available. A relocation trip and house move will be provided in accordance with the applicable rules.
