Avedøre Church seeks an organist

A position as organist/ church musician at Avedøre Church is available as of January 1, 2027

The position is 37 hours per week.

We are seeking an organist and choir director to lead the church's musical activities in connection with high masses, liturgical acts, concerts, etc.

The position includes

• Church services, liturgical acts and monthly services at our two care homes.
• Musical accompaniment for moments of reflection each Tuesday.
• Baby hymn singing is handled by the church culture staff, but the organist should be able to step in as a substitute in case of illness/ holidays.
• Leadership of the church's girls' choir of 12 singers, who sing at weddings, baptisms and high masses. Weekly rehearsal evening on Thursdays.
• Occasionally participate in confirmation preparation, lectures, church lunches and other events.
• Planning of – and possibly also participating in about 3 concerts annually.
• Participation in a staff meeting (calendar meeting), usually once every 14 days.
• Participation in the church's Life and Growth group, with about 4 meetings per year.
• Maintenance of the church's Frobenius organ and grand piano.
• Possibility to start a children/ youth choir.

• Are trained as an organist from the conservatory, the Church Music School of the Danish National Church, or a comparable institution domestically or abroad.
• Are proficient in choral directing.

Salary and terms of employment, etc.

Employment takes place with Avedøre Parish Council located at Trædrejerporten 6, 2650 Hvidovre.

The employment of an organist with a degree as “Church Musician with Organ and Choir Direction” or an organist with a PO degree is covered by the Agreement between City, County and Church Ministry and CO10 – Central Organization of 2010.

Organists with a church music master's or bachelor's degree are covered by the protocol to the academic wage agreement regarding contract employment of DOKS organists and permanent teachers at church music schools entered into between the Academics and the City, County and Church Ministry.

Current civil servant-employed organists have the right to retain their civil servant status upon employment with direct transfer. In that case, the position must be classified.

The annual salary for applicants with church musician training in organ and choir direction (formerly PO organists) is agreed according to the agreed basic pay scale. Basic step 1 is DKK 348,201 per year (current kroner) and basic step 2 is DKK 365,841 per year (current kroner). Placement occurs according to seniority.

The annual salary for applicants with a church music master's degree (DOKS) is determined according to the new pay-AC scale. That is a gross salary between DKK 360,853 and DKK 439,707 per year (current kroner).

There is a on-call commitment to the position. The on-call allowance amounts to 29,665 DKK per year (current kroner). Placement and on-call allowance are awarded according to seniority. In addition, a qualification and responsibility allowance can be provided after local negotiation.

Salary and on-call allowance are quotaed in accordance with the position's employment fraction.
