Senior Power Platform Architect

Would you like to set the architectural direction for Power Platform in an organization where governance, security and stable operations are crucial for the entire sector?

Power Platform is a central part of Bankdata's automation landscape and plays a key role in how we streamline and digitalize processes for financial institutions. In this role you will be responsible for defining architecture, governance and platform operations. You will drive the framing and guardrails for how the platform is used safely and efficiently at scale, across 10+ tenants with up to 30–50 environments.

About the team and the context for the role

You will become part of Bankdata, where we develop and operate critical IT platforms for the financial sector. The role is anchored in the Automate team, which together with the sister team Automation Platforms has the overall responsibility for Bankdata's process automation toolbox (Power Platform, RPA and BPM) and is organizationally placed in the business unit Infrastructure, Operations & Security.

The team owns the Power Platform on the platform layer – not at the development level. This means that configuration, compliance, gates and the decision on how the platform is used best are the core of the work. The team consists of four developers who develop on the Power Platform, and a Product Owner. You also collaborate closely with:

  • The CRM development team in Aarhus, who build solutions on Dataverse (Dynamics 365)
  • The business and financial institutions, who increasingly will act as citizen developers
  • The platform operations team and other architects across Microsoft guilds
  • Microsoft and implementation partners

The Role: The Platform – not the solutions

As a Senior Power Platform Architect you have the overall architectural responsibility for Power Platform at Bankdata. It is important to emphasize: this is not a solution architect role. You do not define which components are used in specific solutions. You define the platform underneath – the processes, guardrails, compliance frameworks and operating models that everything else builds on.

You are the person who has opinions and dares to push back when there are requests for solutions that do not meet the platform's standards – and who can argue the right path forward with substance.

Your key areas of responsibility are to

  • Define and further develop the Power Platform roadmap and architecture in collaboration with the Product Owner
  • Establish and maintain governance, security and compliance in a complex multi-tenant setup (10+ tenants, 30–50 environments)
  • Define and implement a new operating model for Power Platform – including interfaces with financial institutions, Microsoft and implementation partners
  • Define best practices, standards and ALM for development, integration and lifecycle management
  • Mature the team's approach to CI/CD and GitHub – including pipeline design, gates and test standards
  • Enable citizen developers in the business within safe and well-defined frameworks
  • Act as a technical advisor and sparring partner for business, developers and leadership
  • Support platform operations in everyday life, including patching Dynamics 365 environments

Last but not least: The position is newly created – you are involved in defining it and shaping its direction.

What success looks like after 6–12 months

  • A clear governance model and operating model for Power Platform has been established and anchored throughout the organization
  • CI/CD pipelines and ALM standards are defined and implemented in collaboration with the team
  • Citizen development is anchored in the business within clear and safe boundaries
  • Collaboration with the CRM team, operations and business works smoothly
  • Teams experience clear direction, higher quality and better predictability in Power Platform solutions

The team: Flexibility, professionalism and good humor

You will become part of Team Automate with 6 colleagues (PO, 4 developers and an IT Engineer). The team is characterized by high professional pride, good humor and a culture where people support each other across. People gladly look beyond their own tasks and contribute to the whole.

The team is also marked by a high degree of flexibility – and it works because trust and delivery are at the center. However, the expectation is that you are primarily anchored in Fredericia.

The profile we are looking for: Infrastructure mindset with strategic weight

The ideal candidate has experience from a role as architect in a Center of Excellence or similar enterprise Power Platform setup. You have your own opinions on what the right solution is, and you dare to stand by them. You are used to working in a regulated environment, understand that you do not just do things without security clearance, and can thrive with the process.

You are structured, goal-oriented and outward-facing. You will have a lot of contact with developers, business and financial institutions and must be able to create a shared understanding across technical and business stakeholders.

You think infrastructure and platform – not primarily solution and development. Operations, compliance, security and governance are your natural home.

Main qualifications

  • Experience with Microsoft Power Platform at an enterprise level – Power Apps and Power Automate
  • Solid understanding of governance, compliance and ALM in complex multi-tenant setups
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and GitHub – including pipeline design, gates and test standards
  • Familiarity with Azure: infrastructure, security, DevOps and Infrastructure as Code
  • Experience with Dataverse and API integrations
  • Background from highly regulated environments (finance, healthcare, utilities or similar)
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365 is a plus – but deep CRM experience is not a requirement
  • Educational background can be a bachelor or master’s in software development, IT infrastructure or similar – the most important is experience and mindset.

Development opportunities

With us you have the opportunity to

  • Build and define Bankdata's Power Platform architecture from the ground up – a rare chance in a complex, enterprise setup
  • Set the governance model and the standards you wish you had had in your previous role
  • Work broader with cloud, automation and AI in close interaction with the rest of the Microsoft ecosystem
