Maternity leave substitute – teacher for FOKUS10 at Silkeborg Youth School

Do you want to help give young people a year in which they develop academic self-confidence, courage for the future and belief in their own possibilities?

At Silkeborg Ungdomsskole we are seeking an engaged and academically strong maternity-leave substitute for our FOKUS10 team with start date 1 January 2027. You must be able to lead students to FP10 in Danish and English and be driven by the desire to make a difference for young people in an important transition from compulsory school to upper secondary education.

About FOKUS10

Each year we welcome around 165 students to our 10th Grade at Silkeborg Ungdomsskole. Our students come with diverse academic, social and personal experiences. What unites them is the desire to develop themselves, become wiser about their own possibilities and strengthen their path towards upper secondary education.

FOKUS10 is a good new beginning for young people who want to become wiser about themselves, their potential and their choices of upper secondary education. We work purposefully with academic development, personal formation and educational clarification in safe learning communities.

Your tasks

As a teacher at FOKUS10 your primary tasks will be

• teaching in exam-preparatory Danish and English in 10th grade
• teaching in an elective subject within creative or athletic areas
• taking on the contact teacher role for students in the FOKUS classes
• participation in and contribution to the cross-disciplinary collaboration with Ungeguiden and PPL

We are looking for a teacher who

• has teaching competence in Danish and English
• creates strong and trusting relationships with young people
• is pedagogically and didactically well-founded
• masters clear classroom management and structured learning environments
• would be able to contribute with creative or athletic competences through elective subject teaching

Employment terms

This is a maternity-leave substitute with employment from 1 January 2027.

Salary and terms of employment according to the applicable collective agreement and agreement on local salary formation.
