Teacher for GYM10 at Silkeborg Youth School

At Silkeborg Ungdomsskole we are seeking an engaged and academically strong teacher for our GYM10 team with a start no later than 1 January 2027, as our current teacher is retiring.

We are looking for a teacher with teaching qualifications in mathematics and physics. You must have strong relational skills and be driven by the desire to make a difference for young people in an important transition from primary school to upper secondary education.

About GYM10

Each year we welcome around 165 students into our 10th grades. Our students come with different academic, social and personal experiences. What they share is a desire to develop, become wiser about their own possibilities, and strengthen their path toward upper secondary education.

At GYM10 we work purposefully on both academic development, personal formation and educational guidance. We believe that strong relationships, high expectations and meaningful learning communities are crucial for young people to succeed.

You will become part of a committed team of four teachers who, in close collaboration, are responsible for the GYM profile. We prioritize professional sparring, shared reflection, and a work environment characterized by trust, humor and helpfulness.

GYM10 is also characterized by an international outlook through exchange collaborations with schools in the Netherlands and France. Therefore we are looking for a colleague who wants to be a co-creator of exciting cultural encounters and international learning experiences for our students.

Your tasks

As a teacher at GYM10 your main tasks will be

• teaching mathematics for exam preparation in 10th grade
• teaching physics (where possible) in 10th grade
• teaching an elective subject within creative or athletic areas
• fulfilling the tutor (contact teacher) role for students in the GYM classes
• participation in and contribution to the cross-disciplinary collaboration with Ungeguiden and PPL
• assistance in planning and execution of international activities and exchange programs

• has teaching competence in mathematics, and preferably physics
• creates strong and trustworthy relationships with young people
• works inclusively and believes in every student's development potential
• is pedagogically and didactically well-founded
• masters clear classroom management and structured learning environments
• is curious about what motivates young people to learn and participate
• works ambitiously and persistently to unfold each student's potential
• can contribute with creative or athletic competencies through elective teaching

Employment terms

There is currently a temporary position until 31 July 2027.

Employment as soon as possible and no later than 1 January 2027.

Salary and terms of employment in accordance with the applicable collective agreement and the local wage formation agreement.
