Become a key legal player in Hørsholm Municipality

We are seeking a new colleague for an interesting position with high flexibility and with the possibility of employment between 32 and 37 hours, depending on your wishes and needs.

We offer

You will join a small team which, in addition to you, counts two other lawyers, one with a municipal law background and the other with a solicitor background. The team provides legal advice to the mayor, the executive, the municipal council and the municipality's eight service centres, so professionally we span a wide range.

The Legal Team (Team Jura) functions in many ways as the municipality's internal legal office, and we handle all legal questions across the entire municipal administration – from general administrative law to advice in highly complex legal issues within the municipality's core tasks in welfare areas, the technical field and real estate.

As a lawyer with us, your tasks are very diverse. You will primarily provide legal advice across the many different legal areas the municipality operates within, but there will also be smaller case-handling tasks and smaller teaching tasks etc. Our portfolio changes continuously in line with political priorities and with the legal questions and issues that arise across the organization. The internal distribution of tasks and case areas is continuously adjusted according to the nature of the questions, as well as your and your colleagues' wishes and competences.

The position is between 32 and 37 hours per week depending on your wishes and needs. Your salary and other terms are negotiated in accordance with the collective agreement based on your education and experience.

On a daily basis you will be based at Hørsholm Town Hall, located close to the Helsingør motorway, but we offer the possibility of agreed home-working days with good flexibility.

What else will you get?

You will become part of the Center for Policy, Personnel and IT with 24 engaged colleagues. The center is responsible for, among other things, law, communications, digitization, project management, mayoral and executive support, payroll and staff, HR and GDPR.

Hørsholm Municipality is large enough to expose you to complex legal issues and bring you close to political decision-making processes, but small enough for you to quickly learn the organization and take a visible role in solving tasks.

What are we looking for?

As we are a small team that works very independently, we envision that you

• have a Master of Laws degree
• have several years of experience from municipality, region, state, law firm or another legal advisory function
• thrives on working independently
• can translate law into solutions and practical advice
• thinks in holistic solutions with an understanding of the municipality's core tasks
• has a desire to work broadly across many disciplines, where every day brings new tasks

Whether you are a generalist or a specialist is immaterial if the personal match is the right one, as the tasks span a wide range. Experience with, or an interest in, the technical area – planning and building – as well as administrative law rules will, however, be an advantage.

You are naturally positive with a high level of empathy for others and see diversity as a strength. You are approachable and understanding, while at the same time proactive, sociable and good at collaborating. You can establish and maintain social relations across the organization and across all levels and professional groups.
