About the job

We are looking for you who want co-responsibility for management, operation and development of milieu therapy and nursing in the ward.

Do you want to make a real difference for people with both mental illness and addiction?

Do you thrive in a dedicated, multidisciplinary environment where professionalism, relationships and development go hand in hand?

Then it might be you we are looking for!

Who are we?

Section M21 is part of Department M at the Psychiatric Center Sct. Hans, which specializes in dual diagnosis treatment – i.e. treatment of patients with both mental illness and concurrent substance dependency.

We offer voluntary treatment programs (inpatient admission), where patients are typically admitted for about 3 months, and where work is based on a systematic patient pathway description, and a manualized cognitive behavioral therapy program.

We work purposefully with cognitive behavioral therapy, motivation work and skills training – both in the individual treatment of patients and in the group therapy, which is a large part of the treatment. The use of coercion is an exception.

M21 is an open ward with 26 beds and is divided into two teams – East and West. You will take responsibility for the daily collaboration and coordination for one team. The two assistant ward leaders have a close collaboration with the chief nurse, the consultant and the clinical nurse specialist.

We are located in scenic surroundings by Roskilde Fjord and Boserup Forest – a place that can easily be used in the treatment of patients. We take well-being and professionalism seriously and there is weekly supervision with the department's psychologist as well as professional sparring for 30 minutes every day.

Your role and tasks

As an assistant ward leader you will become a professional role model and daily sparring partner for a strong team. You are an active participant in the leadership room and handle both management and clinical tasks. The most important task as an assistant ward leader is to be able to gather and support the team in a respectful and professional manner.

You will come to

  • create frameworks for learning and development among employees and students
  • participate in the daily work with patient pathways, conversations and treatment
  • actively work with KAT – both individually and in group therapy
  • coordinate contact person teams
  • participate in / chair whiteboard meetings
  • ensure staffing and competence coverage in daily life in case of acute need
  • participate in planning, supervision and implementation of development initiatives
  • fulfill management tasks during the chief nurse's absence

… and much more.

Who are you?

We are looking for you who

  • are a licensed nurse – with experience from psychiatry
  • are clear and present and can motivate both colleagues and patients
  • have an interest in leadership and want to develop yourself in a leading role
  • are professionally curious and want to work with KAT
  • have a respectful, appreciative and empathetic approach

Why you should choose us

  • We provide a thorough and tailored introduction
  • Further education in cognitive behavioral therapy and participation in group treatment
  • Daily sparring, weekly supervision and teaching
  • Opportunity to help shape the ward's culture and development
  • Close collaboration with a colleague in a similar position
  • Beautiful surroundings and focus on the importance of nature in treatment
  • Opportunity for courses and competency development, e.g. Leadership of Functions (LAFU) and Expert group with all assistant ward leaders at the Psychiatric Center Sct. Hans

Salary and terms of employment

This is a full-time position, which can commence on 1 December 2026 or by agreement.

The ward is staffed around the clock, and you will therefore be employed for mixed shifts but with a predominant daytime shift in accordance with the rules of the applicable Danish collective agreement.

Weekend work will, as a rule, be every 4 weeks but can be agreed further at the time of hire.

You will be employed under the collective agreement for non-supervisory staff in the Health Cartel area with salary placement as a nurse. You are under the employment of the current working time agreement entered into between the Regions’ Wages and Tariff Board and the Danish Nurses Association.

You are employed as a nurse in the Capital Region with service currently at the Psychiatric Center Sct. Hans, Department M, Ward M21.

We look forward to hearing from you!
