About the job
Become an intern in Technical and Environment and become proficient in political and strategic task-solving
Are you passionate about testing your theoretical and academic skills in an area with political attention, where citizens are very close? Then we offer an exciting and diverse internship opportunity in Technical and Environment in Aarhus.
In Technical and Environment we handle tasks within e.g. urban development, urban life, green transition, mobility, nature and environment – always with a focus on creating value for citizens and society.
With us you will work at the crossroads between politics and practically oriented task solving and you will be attached to a group of skilled staff consultants who primarily support the Byrum area in strategic and political task solving. In Byrum we work, among other things, for better bicycle lanes, better parking conditions and the beautification of squares and plazas. We work closely with our skilled professionals, management and colleagues in the council secretariat, and we place a high value on collaboration.
Two days are rarely the same, and we have plenty of exciting tasks.
Your everyday life as an intern
You will have a mentor who focuses on the good internship – and who will introduce you to the area you are helping to support. We will focus on guiding and advising you so that you realize your agreed internship plan. We have the possibility to tailor the concrete tasks according to your areas of interest and competencies.
You will have to work closely with the staff consultants in the areas. We are all highly engaged and value an informal working environment where there is room for laughter and coffee.
You will work with, among other things, quality assurance of political and strategic material and you will also have to write notes, motions, speech drafts, council inquiries, etc. There is also the possibility to assist with longer-term strategic and procedural initiatives, and perhaps try your hand at project management. With us you will gain a good insight into Technical and Environment as a workplace and future career opportunity.
We are talking about an unpaid internship with a duration of 3-6 months with the possibility of simultaneously being employed as a student assistant for 7 hours a week. Therefore the working hours will typically be between 30-37 hours per week. There are flexible working hours, and we will of course take teaching activities into account.
Who are you?
- You are currently studying to become cand.scient.pol. or similar
- You want to work in a politically led organization
- You have strong communication skills – both written and verbal
- You can contribute with creative inputs to our task solving
- You understand the value of good collaboration
Other about the internship
- There is free coffee and a good canteen with employee discounts
- We are located in a neat office environment on Karen Blixens Boulevard in Brabrand
