About the job

Are you keen to become part of a work community where we go the extra mile for the citizens and for each other?

Are you passionate about relationship-based work, professional development and creating quality of life for adults with developmental disabilities? And would you like to be part of a strong work community where we help each other, share our knowledge and take shared responsibility?

Are you a social- and health care assistant, educator, occupational therapist or care assistant?

Then perhaps you are the one we need on the team!

At Samstyrken, Østervang department in Varde, we are seeking an engaged colleague for a 37-hour-per-week position. We are open to dialogue about the position, and we want you to start as soon as possible.

With us you will become part of a workplace where professionalism, presence and collaboration go hand in hand.

Who are we?

Samstyrken, Østervang department, is the Municipality of Varde's specialized residential facility for 15 adults with permanently reduced physical and/or mental functioning.

Our main task is to create the best conditions for each citizen to live a meaningful life with high quality of life, the greatest possible self-determination, and influence over their own daily life.

Together we succeed

We want to be a workplace where we take responsibility for the citizens' well-being and for each other's job satisfaction. For us, professionalism and a good working environment go hand in hand. We believe the best solutions arise when we bring our different professional backgrounds into play and tackle the task together.

Therefore we prioritize

  • A strong work community where we help each other and take joint responsibility.
  • High professionalism where we are curious, reflective and open to new perspectives.
  • An appreciative work environment where there is room for dialogue, differences and professional sparring.
  • Interdisciplinary collaboration where pedagogical and health-related efforts go hand in hand.
  • Professional development, where you have the opportunity to strengthen your competences through sparring and continuing education.

We think in whole people

Citizens' lives are not divided into sectors or subject areas. Therefore we start from the citizen's entire life situation and have an eye for the connection between family, work, leisure, networks, health and housing. In Samstyrken we call it; holistic thinking. This means that we all take responsibility for a coherent effort, where the citizen's needs and wishes are at the center.

Through dialogue, collaboration and coordination we share knowledge and experiences, so we maintain the thread in the effort. We work closely with relatives and colleagues across professional groups and the organization to create the best possible framework for the citizen's well-being and development.

Our pedagogical approach – with the person at the center

In daily practice we base ourselves, among other things, on KRAP – Cognitive, Resource-Focused and Appreciative Pedagogy.

That means that we

  • take the individual citizen's mental development and prerequisites as a starting point.
  • see and build on the citizen's resources and strengths.
  • meet the citizens with respect, recognition and curiosity.
  • continuously reflect on our practice and seek the best possible pedagogical solutions.

We are also focused on neuro-pedagogy and sensory integration. We are curious about how the individual citizen's senses, prerequisites and needs influence daily life, and how our approach can support well-being and quality of life.

Who do we hope you are?

We are looking for a colleague who

  • values teamwork and actively contributes to a good work community.
  • are interested in relationship-based work and in creating safe, trusting relationships.
  • are eager to work in a neuro-pedagogical context with a focus on sensory integration.
  • can work in a structured way based on the citizens' 24-hour rhythm plans.
  • can maintain an overview and navigate a daily life where plans and needs can change.
  • can plan and prioritize your tasks while being flexible.
  • thrives with close dialogue and collaboration with other professional groups and relatives.
