About the job

As a teaching Biomedical Laboratory Scientist, you will play a central role in the department’s education environment and become part of a dedicated teaching team, working purposefully to create the best clinical education programs for biomedical laboratory science students. You contribute to planning, conducting and developing the clinical education programs and will have a daily life with an exciting combination of teaching, guidance, professional development and cross-disciplinary collaboration.

In the role you work closely with both students and the department’s many professional groups, including biomedical laboratory scientists, laboratory technicians, chemists, doctors and secretaries. You will become an important sparring partner, helping to ensure high quality in the education and contribute to the development of future Biomedical Laboratory Scientists.

Your tasks include, among others

• Development and updating of teaching materials
• Guidance, feedback and assessment of students
• Conducting examinations in accordance with the applicable study regulations
• Guidance of students in connection with development tasks and bachelor theses
• Collaboration with the educational institution and teaching as needed
• Teaching and competence development of the department’s staff
• Active participation in the department’s morning rounds

You will fit in well with us if you

• Are a licensed Biomedical Laboratory Scientist and it is highly valued that you have experience from Clinical Biochemistry
• Have an interest in teaching and guidance, preferably combined with teaching experience or relevant continuing education (e.g. diploma or clinical supervisor module). If you don’t have it yet, we will support you in obtaining it
• Are motivated to convey knowledge in an innovative and flexible way, and can work independently with administrative tasks
• Thrive in a cross-disciplinary environment and have both strong communication and technological skills
• Contribute to job satisfaction, good collaboration and a learning environment characterized by trust, respect and humor

The Clinical Biochemistry Department at Aalborg University Hospital is one of the country’s largest clinical biochemistry departments with regional functions including, among others, coagulation and bleeding investigations. Each year we have about 900,000 patient contacts and perform around 10 million analyses. This creates a strong professional environment with high specialization, great variation in tasks and many opportunities for learning and development.

The Clinical Biochemistry Department is located in the Hospital City at Aalborg University Hospital as well as at our campuses in Farsø, Hobro and Thisted. You will primarily work in the Hospital City in Aalborg.

The practical

Working hours: 37 hours per week, weekdays 7:00–14:24

Salary and employment terms

According to the current collective agreement for non-left-wing staff in the Health Cartel area between Danish Biomedical Analysts and Region North Jutland
