Become a Social and Health Care Assistant in 17 weeks

Do you have two years of experience from an older people’s center, home care, or workplaces where care and nursing tasks are performed, you now have the opportunity to acquire a vocational education as a Social and Health Care Helper, on an abbreviated and coherent theoretical 17-week program.

You will join a special EUV1 (vocational education for adults) cohort, where you exclusively participate in the theoretical part of the education, since you already have practical experience. The content and pedagogical approach of the education correspond to the theoretical part of the ordinary Social and Health Care Helper education.

After you have passed the Social and Health Care Helper education, you have the opportunity to apply directly to the Social and Health Care Assistant education with credit.

Education start

The education starts on February 15, 2027 at SOSU Nord, Hedevold 11, 9800 Hjørring, and ends on June 25, 2027. The EUV1 cohort is established on the condition that there are at least 20 participants.

How do you apply for an apprenticeship?

Admission requirements for the EUV1 Social and Health Care Helper education

You must be able to document the following

• Minimum 25 years of age at the start of the education
• Minimum 2 years of professional experience, with at least 24 hours per week at the start of the education within the last 4 years, from at least one of the following areas: Home care, care centers or workplaces where care tasks are performed corresponding to tasks in home care and on care centers
• Relevant professional experience from several shift patterns (preferably day and evening shifts), substantial work experiences with care tasks reflecting the training goals, in your job have been part of a team with healthcare staff, and involved in health care supervision

SOSU Nord’s apprentice consultant assesses whether you meet the admission requirements.

Employment and salary

You receive adult apprentice wages during the education according to the applicable collective agreement with FOA. If your current salary is higher than the adult apprentice wage, you have the option to apply for the municipal competence fund pool “From unskilled to skilled,” which supports the opportunity to pursue a skilled education without a salary reduction during the education.
