Børnehuset Knolden is seeking an educator

Educator wanted for Kindergarten – come with us into nature and into the children's play. Are you passionate about jumping in puddles, lighting fires and exploring together with the children? Do you also have an eye for how play, relationships and daily routines can strengthen children's language and participation?

THEN you might be our new colleague at Børnehuset Knolden!

We are looking for a present and professionally engaged educator who will help create a kindergarten day with strong children's communities, language development, outdoor life and inspiring learning environments. The position is 30-37 hours per week.

About Børnehuset Knolden Børnehuset Knolden is located in the scenic Himmelev and is part of Area Midtøst.

We have 74 children, spread across two age-integrated nursery groups and three kindergarten groups.

With us we use the outdoor space as an active learning and development environment. Nature gives the children opportunities for movement, immersion, imagination and shared experiences. We see the playground and the local surroundings as meaningful pedagogical spaces where children can be curious, explorative and participating.

You will play an important role in supporting the children's language development throughout the day. We work with language in play, in daily routines, in activities and in smaller groups. At the same time we create learning environments where all children feel they belong and have real opportunities to participate.

We are particularly focused on play, nature and outdoor life - both in work with the individual child and with the larger community.

We also collaborate with the local community, among other things with Bernadottegården, Viking Ship Museum and Bogbussen

Our pedagogical starting point Our professional starting point is based on a resource-oriented view of children. We acknowledge children's differences as a strength and as a natural part of broad child communities.

We work with both general and special educational perspectives and adapt the learning environments to the individual child and the child group. The goal is to create real opportunities for participation and inclusive communities for all children.

We use SprogTrappen as a systematic tool to follow the children's development, reflect on our practice and qualify the pedagogical learning environments. On that basis we adjust our organization, activities and interaction so that they support the individual child’s linguistic participation and development throughout the day.

In Roskilde Municipality it is politically prioritized that all day care services are allocated preparation time. The preparation time gives staff the opportunity to work more systematically with the core task, and at the same time creates better conditions for professional development, well-being, job satisfaction and strong communities – without compromising time with the children and the daily staffing levels.
