Use your SOSU skills for more than care – create presence, community and good days at our day home

Would you like to use your health care skills to create a meaningful everyday life where care, movement, and good conversations go hand in hand, and where citizens leave with the experience of having had a good day?

Here’s what your everyday will look like

The workday begins with a morning meeting, where you, together with your colleagues, plan the day’s tasks and activities. Thereafter you welcome the citizens, help them settle in, and contribute to ensuring that the coffee, breakfast, and social community get a good start.

Later you stand with your colleagues for physical exercise. You use your professional knowledge to tailor the training so that each citizen has the opportunity to move and participate actively in the community.

At lunchtime you help create a secure and hyggelig moment around the meal. You notice the small details, motivate citizens who eat a little to eat and drink, and ensure that the medication is given correctly and that the necessary documentation is completed.

After lunch you take responsibility for an activity based on the citizens’ interests and needs. This could be reading aloud, a walk, CST, creative activities, dancing, or a good life conversation.

You also support the citizens with bathroom visits and transfers. Along the way you document in Nexus and work closely with your colleagues to ensure a cohesive and professionally well-founded effort throughout the day.

Every day you meet around 40 citizens aged 50 to over 100. The citizens live with dementia, Parkinson’s disease, depression, or multiple simultaneous conditions. Therefore no day is the same, and it is important that you can adapt your effort to each citizen’s needs and resources.

You succeed in the job when you can keep an overview, take responsibility, and create calm, even when the day is busy. For me, as the department head, it is important that we not only solve the practical tasks but also create a daily life where the citizens feel seen, heard, and included.

A little about us

At Rygårdcentret’s day home you will be part of an interprofessional team consisting of SOSU assistants, SOSU helpers, and educators. Together we create a meaningful everyday life for the citizens, and our newly renovated facilities provide good frames for activities, socializing, and care.

We place emphasis on employees having influence and freedom to plan the workday within the core task. We bring ideas and professional reflections into play, focus on a good working environment, and meet development with openness because we constantly want to find the best solutions for the citizens.

In 2027 we will expand the day home area, and there may therefore be an opportunity to help start a new day home at Ordruplund. Here you have the opportunity to actively contribute to the development of the future day home.

A little about the practical

• Workplace: The day home at Rygårdcentret, Niels Andersens Vej 22, 2900 Hellerup.
• Position: Permanent position as SOSU assistant for 30 hours per week.
• Working hours: The day home is open from 8:00 to 15:30. Your specific working hours will be agreed within the day home’s opening hours.
• Start date: January 1, 2027.
• Employment interviews: Held on November 17, 2026.
• Qualifications: You are trained as an SOSU assistant, work independently, take responsibility, and maintain an overview. It is an advantage if you have experience with documentation in Nexus.

Rygårdcentret consists of four departments with different target groups and professional profiles. Egelunden 1st floor, Birkelunden and Kastanjelunden each have 20 care home apartments. Poppelunden houses 22 specialized places, while Egelunden 2nd floor has 20 apartments, of which 10 are specially allocated to younger citizens with dementia. In total, Rygårdcentret has 102 apartments.
