Business Controller

Business Controller Do you want to translate data and economics into insights that drive better business decisions? We are seeking an experienced Business Controller who combines strong financial and business understanding with solid analytical, communicative and systems competencies.

You will play a central role in the company's financial management and become a close financial sparring partner for management and the operational teams. Your focus will not only be to report what happened, but to analyze why it happened, what it means for the business, and which initiatives should be undertaken.

About Hendrix Genetics Hendrix Genetics is an international breeding, genetics and technology company with activities in among others pigs, poultry, turkeys, salmon, trout and shrimp. The group employs more than 2,800 people and has activities in more than 25 countries.

Hendrix Genetics Swine has its headquarters in Kolding. The business develops and delivers advanced genetic solutions to the global swine production focusing on productivity, efficiency, animal welfare and sustainable performance.

Through extensive R&D, genetic selection and a global commercial setup, the company works to improve production results and profitability for customers in the international pig industry.

Your role – close to the business and the decisions As a Business Controller you will be a central part of Finance and work broadly with FP&A, controlling, performance management, reporting and financial decision support.

You will work closely with Business Unit Management, Operations, Sales, Accounting and Group Finance and play an important role in understanding and making visible the commercial and operational relationships behind the numbers.

A significant part of the role will be translating financial and operational data into clear conclusions, recommendations and decision proposals. You must therefore be strong in analysis and able to communicate the results in a way that creates direction and action.

Your primary responsibilities

• Budgeting, forecasting and long-term planning
• Monthly reporting and performance analyses
• Analysis of variances between actual, budget and forecast
• Follow-up on revenue, margins, costs, productivity and working capital
• Profitability analyses on customers, products and business areas
• Business cases, investment analyses and sensitivity calculations
• Identification of improvement opportunities within earnings, efficiency and resource utilization
• Active participation in business reviews and follow-up on KPIs, action plans and other improvement initiatives
• Financial sparring with management and the organization
• Analyses, presentations and decision propositions to BU leadership, Finance Director and Executive Team

Data, Power BI and digitalization Power BI will be a central tool in the role, and you will have an important task in further developing the company's reporting, dashboards and KPI structures, e.g. based on the primary ERP platform Microsoft Dynamics 365 F&O.

You will among other things help to

• Develop reports and dashboards in Power BI
• Translate data into relevant and visually strong management information
• Ensure high data quality and consistency in reporting
• Automate reporting and analysis processes
• Develop and improve BI and reporting solutions
• Contribute to the implementation and optimization of financial systems and tools

Management reporting It is crucial that you not only can analyze data, but also tell the story behind the numbers.

You must be able to translate complex financial and operational analyses into clear messages and actionable recommendations – both in ongoing dialogue with the business and in connection with business reviews, budget reviews, forecasts and strategic projects.

You should therefore be comfortable producing professional management presentations in PowerPoint and be able to present KPIs, financial results and business development in a simple and convincing way.

Your profile You have a relevant economic education, e.g. cand.merc., HD, HA or similar, combined with a minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience from business controlling, FP&A, business finance or a similar analytical finance function.

We place particular emphasis on the following

• You communicate confidently in Danish and English, both verbally and in writing.
• Have solid experience with business controlling, FP&A and financial analysis
• Have strong and documented skills in Power BI
• Can develop dashboards and reporting for easily usable management information
• Have experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 F&O or a similar ERP system
• Are strong in Excel and have good understanding of data models and data quality
• Have solid financial and accounting understanding
• Have experience with performance management and KPI follow-up
• Can translate complex data into clear conclusions and recommendations
• Communicate confidently with both financial and non-financial stakeholders

Business-oriented, analytical and proactive You are curious about the business and interested in the processes and activities behind the numbers. You work in a structured and analytical way, but at the same time manage to keep the overall business perspective.

You take ownership, work independently and are not afraid to ask questions or challenge the business constructively. You have an eye for improvement opportunities and are motivated by translating analysis into concrete initiatives and measurable results.

At the same time you are a strong communicator who can make complex financial issues understandable and build credibility as a sparring partner across the organization.
