About the job

Are you passionate about working with budgets and accounts? And would you like to make a difference by helping researchers with the finances in their research grants? At the University of Copenhagen we have great success in securing external funding for a growing pool of research activities with international attention. Right now we are looking for proactive project economists for temporary and permanent positions, who will support externally funded projects together with a team of experienced and professionally strong economic staff.

About the positions

You will become part of Campus Administration North’s Economic Center, whose overarching purpose is to run and support the core business across the Health Sciences Faculty (SUND) and the Faculty of Science (SCIENCE).

As a project economist you will have independent responsibility for budgetary and accounting tasks, which are a prerequisite for advising and servicing the researchers in connection with their projects. You are the researchers’ 'go-to person' on the finances, and it is therefore important that you can be outward-facing in your professional role and thrive on collaborating with many different people and disciplines.

Your primary task will be the operational financial management of the research projects, including: budgeting, re-budgeting and reallocation, as well as ongoing follow-up and financial reporting in collaboration with the researcher. You will be attached to several research groups at an institute, where we handle all types of budget and accounting tasks – always with opportunities for sparring from colleagues and a thorough introduction to the tasks and the researchers you serve.

Profile

We are looking for colleagues who

  • Have a pronounced flair for numbers, strong analytical abilities, and work proactively.
  • Have a relevant education in e.g. social sciences or administration. Your academic background may also be in natural sciences, humanities or similar. The key is that you have a strong methodological understanding of numbers, can analyse data and communicate the results clearly.
  • May be newly graduated or early in your career
  • Have good communication skills and can operate in writing and orally in both Danish and English.
  • Have a sense of efficient task solving, and work in a structured and independent manner.
  • Have the ability to manage time, keep an overview, take responsibility and follow your tasks through to the end.
  • Have routine in using Excel
  • Are good at familiarizing yourself with new systems and workflows that are continually improved
  • Are good at collaborating and building relationships in the role of adviser.

Who are we

In Campus Administration North we serve internationally renowned research institutes at the Faculty of Science (SCIENCE) and the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences (SUND). We are an exciting workplace with good opportunities for further developing your personal and professional competences.

The Economics Center at Campus Administration North consists of five sections in total. You will become part of a section consisting of 11-18 other employees, who under the leadership of a section head jointly plan the task solution for a number of institutes as well as the more general support of the faculty and the deanery. We place great emphasis on having a professional environment with sparring and knowledge sharing, where everyone contributes and helps each other.

We offer

An exciting, varied and challenging job in a team of good colleagues with strong professional competences. We have a strong focus on the individual’s and department’s well-being, where cooperation, sparring and dialogue are highly valued.

We also place emphasis on a good balance between work life and private life, and there is the possibility of flexible working hours and remote work. We have an informal tone, where there is room for everyone.

Salary and terms of employment

Employment is offered, depending on your education, in accordance with the central collective agreement between the Ministry of Finance and Public Employees’ Organizations – The Public Sector Collective Agreement (OAO central agreement) or under the circular on the collective agreement for academics in the state between the Ministry of Finance and Akademikerne. There will be the possibility of negotiating an allowance based on qualifications. You can read more about state salary levels at www.loenoverblik.dk.

The weekly working time is on average 37 hours, with commencement on 1 December 2026 or as soon as possible thereafter.
