Can you get more people to discover their next great reading experience at Herlev Library?

We are seeking a facilitator who can contribute to increased lending and ensure that Herlev's citizens can find their next great reading experience at the library. It is an advantage if you have experience with user involvement and user journeys as a basis for acquisitions and dissemination, and you thrive with a workday where outreach is combined with hosting and the practical tasks that keep the library running.

At Herlev Library you will be part of Team Knowledge and Hosting and will be responsible for selecting and purchasing the library's materials as well as making the collection lively, relevant and visible. At the same time you will be an important part of the library's everyday life, where you meet citizens in lending, help them with their questions and contribute to the library appearing inviting, inspiring and ready for use.

You will be part of an engaged staff group of 22 colleagues who are passionate about developing the library as a relevant and inclusive place for all residents in Herlev Municipality. The library consists of the main library, which also houses Local History Archive, as well as a combined school- and public library at Klausdalskolen.

Your tasks

• Coordinate procurement of materials as well as material care and discarding in accordance with Herlev's demographics and the library's collection strategy.
• Create inspiring displays of the library's materials with regard to different target groups, both in physical space and on digital platforms.
• Develop and update display concepts and purchases based on data, user insights and dialogue with citizens.
• Contribute to projects and activities that strengthen the library's visibility and communities in Herlev.
• Participate in daily operations with service to citizens, handling materials, reservations m.m.

We imagine that you

• Have a relevant higher education within literature, information science, culture dissemination or similar.
• Have experience with user involvement, user journeys or outreach dissemination.
• Are curious about libraries' development and how literature can reach new audiences.
• Want to work both strategically with dissemination and practically in the library's daily operations.
• Are proactive, collaborative and good at building relationships.

Working hours, salary and terms of employment

The position is 37 hours per week with a flexitime arrangement and is intended to be filled on January 1, 2027. You can expect evening work 1-2 times per week as well as every 4th weekend (Saturday and Sunday). Salary and terms follow the applicable collective agreement and Ny Løn principles.

Herlev Municipality has smoke-free working hours.
