About the job

Take care of the safety of passengers on board, sales and service to our guests in the cafe, cleaning in the cabin and cafe, order handling and receiving goods, self-check; cashier service, preparation of food, sandwiches, light meals.

We expect from you

We expect you to be outgoing, able to work independently since you are alone in the cafe, but at the same time be able to collaborate with your colleague who has a watch when you have time off.

In addition you should be aware of the following 10 things

• That you arrive on time
• You are aware that all shifts start and end on Samsø, the shipping company provides rest rooms if needed
• You must follow the uniform policy, and the uniforms must appear clean and neat.
• Shifts can be up to 14 hours long.
• Holidays cannot be taken in weeks 28 / 29 due to the festival.

• You familiarize yourself with daily tasks, including self-check
• You follow the guidelines for cash handling and accounting
• The workplace is smoke-free during your working time and when you are in uniform.

We offer you

Full-time permanent position with orderly conditions, a 5:2 shift pattern 5 days work one week and 2 days work the next week, fixed days off every other weekend.

Employment terms

Full-time permanent 37 hours, employed by Samsø Rederi, which is part of Samsø municipality, starting point is at our fast-ferry Lilleøre, but shifts on the car ferry Isabella may occur.

There is a collective agreement with 3F

There is a meal arrangement, and a staff association.

Condition of employment is that you can obtain a medical certificate for seafarers, and that you can complete a legally required 4-day safety course, course paid by the shipping company, and you receive pay during the course

As you are safety crew for passengers, there is a legal requirement that you can speak and guide them in Danish, as the safety language on board is Danish.
