Manager with a healthcare background for the Department Management in Psychiatry

The Psychiatry Department at Horsens Regional Hospital is evolving. We are expanding the department management to a three-legged leadership team and are looking for an experienced, relationship-oriented leader who wants to head the continued development of the department. Can you combine a strong health-professional foundation with clear leadership, strategic vision, and a desire to work relationally? Then you may be the new head of Psychiatry, Horsens Regional Hospital.

About the position

The departmental management consists of a chief nurse, a chief physician, and the new head position. With this role, we want to strengthen the management with a third health-professional profile, e.g., a psychologist or therapist.

With the expansion, we will have even greater opportunity for managerial proximity in daily life, stronger professional backing, and a shorter path to decisions. Together, the departmental leadership will work purposefully to create coherence, alignment, and sustainable solutions in a complex everyday life.

As part of the departmental management, you will have the opportunity to actively influence both professional development, organizational cohesion, and strategic initiatives. The position involves close collaboration in an egal leadership community where shared responsibility, sparring, and different professional perspectives are a strength. We view leadership as a holistic task where direction, relationships, and operations go hand in hand.

Together with our chief physician and chief nurse, it is your task to lead the approximately 313 employees and ensure quality in patient care and operations – in close collaboration with your functional managers.

As departmental leadership, you are central actors in the development of psychiatry locally and in the implementation of regional and national strategies, including integration between psychiatry and somatics and creating a robust and attractive psychiatry with a strong focus on involving patients and relatives.

• you have a health-professional education, (e.g., psychologist, therapist, or another health-professional background, but not a background as a physician or nurse)

• you understand the importance of openness and transparency in decision-making processes

• you are willing and able to collaborate with the department's function managers, other hospital departments, and external partners

About Psychiatry

In the Psychiatry Department in Horsens, we diagnose and treat patients with all forms of psychiatric disorders. We are organized into 3 clinics, while we treat all psychiatric diagnoses in our 3 inpatient units.

The Psychiatric Department in Horsens is part of Regionshospitalet Horsens with satellites in Skanderborg and Odder. The department handles regional adult psychiatric treatment for residents in the municipalities of Horsens, Skanderborg, Hedensted, and Odder – a total of about 223,000 inhabitants.

Employment terms

employment is made in accordance with the current collective agreement between the professional organization and Danish Regions. The position is covered by New Pay and negotiated with the organization. The position is exempt from the requirement for time registration.

A prerequisite for employment at the hospital is, in addition, that consent is given for obtaining criminal and child protection records, and that these are satisfactory.
