About us

We are about 85 happy, highly skilled and engaged employees in the Family Department, focused on a good atmosphere in daily life. We get along well and value good collegiality. We are professionally ambitious, but we are also very good at supporting each other.

Our focus is aimed at creating a balance between stable, law-abiding operation AND development of the operation. We also strive to be a professionally well-functioning department with room for diversity.

In Family Team North we are 15 social workers and a team leader. We handle case processing when a decision on a supportive intervention in the family has been made. We prepare child-related assessments, perform follow-ups on interventions and also prepare recommendations to the Children and Young People Committee in cases of placement without consent. Therefore, a high degree of systematic work and structure is expected in daily operations.

We have a special task of involving the child’s perspective in the most gentle way, while we quickly determine the necessary level of support.

As a advisor in a Family Team you will join a team where we offer close professional sparring and collegial backing in the very diverse tasks we navigate.

In Family Team Handicap we are about 20 social workers spread across an Intake and a Family Team, a professional coordinator and a team leader. We have a special focus on a holistic, social-work based approach to cases. We want to emphasize that all children should have the opportunity for a good childhood and adolescence, despite their disabilities. Additionally, we work systematically with quality assurance of legally well-founded decisions pursuant to §§ 86 and 87 of the Children’s Act.

We also have a particular focus on independence and coordination of the transition from child to adult, where we participate in close, cross-disciplinary cooperation with the Social Department, the Job Center and UU around the young person.

We also have an explicit focus on involving the child in their own case – particularly those children who may have difficulty expressing themselves due to disabilities. It is very important to us that these children have a voice in their own lives.

Common to the entire department is that we focus on strengthened involvement of the children's perspective in the cases and that we insist on close collaboration with our closest partners, including Viborg Family Center, as well as Overnight Care and Relief, Health Visitors, PPL, schools and kindergartens.

Value-based leadership is practiced throughout Viborg Municipality, which provides room to maneuver within the existing framework. These are also stated in our competency plan.

Physically, we are housed at Viborg City Hall, whose layout greatly supports cross-department collaboration and creative solutions for our citizens. The cross-disciplinary collaboration is a natural part of daily life in the Family Department.

Employment

There is one fixed position of 37 hours per week, and a maternity leave vacancy of one year, also 37 hours per week. The positions are to be filled no later than January 1, 2027.
