Church singer sought for Rødding, Lem, Lihme and Vejby Churches

Do you have a good singing voice, joy in hymns and a desire to be part of life in our churches?

Then the position as church singer at Rødding, Lem, Lihme and Vejby Churches is available from 1 December 2026 or as soon as possible thereafter .

The position is initially 12 hours per week . If you are unable to be available on weekdays, the position could possibly be shared between two church singers.

About the job

As a church singer you will be an important part of the liturgical actions and worship in our four churches. You will work closely with priests, organists and church attendants to create good and present environments for the congregation.

Your primary tasks are to

• say the opening and closing prayers
• sing at worship services
• sing at church ceremonies such as baptisms, weddings and funerals/burials
• participate in a good and constructive collaboration with priests, organists, church attendants and the other staff group.

We are looking for you who

• have a good singing voice and preferably experience with choral singing or other singing
• have the voice and confidence to sing out and be clear in the church space
• have a desire to sing both hymns and songs from and outside the hymnbook
• can meet different church ceremonies with presence and understanding of the individual occasion's mood and character
• thrive in collaboration and contribute positively to the sense of community among the staff
• have knowledge of the Folk Church and be positive about its values and mission.

Your education is not important, but that you can sing (clearly), are enthusiastic about the task and easy to work with .

Employment takes place with Rødding-Lem-Lihme-Vejby Sognes Menighedsråd , Hostrupvej 17A, Lem, 7860 Spøttrup.

Salary and terms of employment

Hiring of a church singer is covered by the Joint Agreement between the Ministry of Taxation and CO10 – Central Organization of 2010 as well as the organizational agreement between the Ministry of Ecclesiastical Affairs and CO10 for church officials with core duties such as sexton, church and cultural worker or church musician and the corresponding protocol for church musicians.

Annual salary is agreed within the range 331,619 – 472,557 DKK (current kroner).

There is a readiness obligation to the position. The readiness allowance amounts to 27,465 DKK annually (current kroner).

There is also an OK allowance of 1,075 DKK annually (current kroner).

Salary, OK allowance and readiness allowance are quotaed in accordance with the position’s appointment fraction.
