At Diakonissestiftelsens Hospice we are looking for a clinical nurse specialist who is passionate about professional development, education and quality in palliative care. About Diakonissestiftelsens Hospice and the position

Diakonissestiftelsens Hospice consists of a hospice with room for 16 inpatients and an outreach hospice team for 22-30 patients based in Frederiksberg and the municipalities of Copenhagen. We have approximately 250 admissions to the Hospice each year.

Our ambition is to develop our hospice so that patients and relatives experience the greatest possible quality of life and security, even with death in sight. Here we need a clinical nurse specialist with drive and strong competencies to take care of the clinical development in collaboration with our highly engaged staff. Staff who, with their professional commitment, provide care, nursing and treatment of the highest quality in accordance with the hospice’s values, purpose and goals.

You will collaborate with our multidisciplinary staff group consisting of physicians, nurses, physiotherapists, hospice chaplain, music therapist, social worker, cooks, janitor and secretaries.

Your immediate supervisor will be our chief nurse, while the hospice director is the top leader.

As a clinical nurse specialist you will be responsible for supporting, developing and implementing evidence-based nursing practice at our hospice. You will act as a professional sparring partner for the staff and contribute to translating new knowledge into practice.

Your tasks will include

• Contribute to the introduction, education and on-the-job training of both newly employed and experienced nurses in collaboration with the assistant chief nurse
• Contribute to managerial tasks, such as coordination during acute illness and competency-based patient allocation
• Provide nursing professional sparring and support the development of staff's clinical and theoretical competencies in collaboration with the assistant chief nurse
• Inspire the development and maintenance of good clinical practice and care for patients and relatives
• Plan and implement staff days for the Hospice in collaboration with the management team
• Be responsible for reviewing and developing the clinical guidelines and procedures
• Function as a coordinator for resource groups and participate ad hoc in the groups’ work
• Analyze and follow up on adverse events with a focus on learning, in collaboration with one of the hospice’s physicians
• Collaborate with the Regional Pharmacy on medication service
• Carry out teaching tasks internally and externally

We would like you to be available and visible in the clinic 2 days a week, where you, among other things, go bedside with the staff. The remaining 3 days will be reserved for administrative work.

We are looking for someone who

• Is a licensed nurse
• Preferably is field-approved in the specialized field at a C-level, has relevant clinical continuing education, preferably at master’s level, e.g. in clinical nursing, or is motivated to pursue further education
• Has broad and updated clinical experience in palliation
• Has experience with clinical, evidence-based development work and documentation
• Has strong communication and teaching skills
• Works systematically and purposefully
• Assumes responsibility for own professional development and stays updated
• Has professional capacity and great commitment that can inspire others
• Thrives on setting direction and can create followers
• Is an engaged, approachable and reflective communicator

Creates good relationships and contributes to strong collaboration across professional groups

The practicalities

Start date: 1 December 2026 or as soon as possible thereafter.

Application deadline: Tuesday 20 October at 23:59.

Interviews: Monday 26 October and Tuesday 27 October 2026 between 08:00 and 14:00. If there is a second interview, it will take place on 29 October.

Conditions: The position is 37 hours per week, and salary and employment terms follow the current agreement between DSR and Region Hovedstaden.
