About the job
Do you dream of standing close to heart patients – professionally strong, collegial close and with time for both quality and presence?
We are seeking a Clinical Nurse Specialist in Cardiology Ward Vejle at Lillebælt Hospital. You will obtain a central key function close to the patients, where you are a professional role model, a driver of improvement work and part of a warm and ambitious work community. Together we put the patient first – every day.
About the department
The Department of Cardiology consists of two inpatient wards and two outpatient clinics at Vejle and Kolding Hospitals with joint leadership and close interprofessional collaboration.
Cardiology Ward Vejle is located in modern facilities with 27 beds, team‑based nursing and its own acute cardiac reception, which handles patients with both acute and complex issues around the clock.
We work purposefully with Excellent Nursing as a common professional direction and based on Lillebælt Hospital’s promises of dignity, high professional quality, presence and coherent patient pathways – promises that serve as a compass for our daily work and our collaboration.
Colleagues, working environment and shared expectations
You will become part of a professionally strong and closely collegial environment with both experienced and newer nurses. We view diversity in seniority, educational background and competencies as a clear strength for both development and quality in nursing for heart patients and their relatives.
We safeguard both professionalism and well‑being through among other things social and professional activities, time for breaks and a proper, informal tone.
We have a clear, shared expectation of professional and personal engagement
- we share knowledge, give and receive feedback and invite collegial sparring
- we are curious about our own practice and challenge habits when it can improve quality and coherence in patient pathways
- we help each other succeed – with the patient’s and the relatives’ needs as the driving force.
Your role
As a Clinical Nurse Specialist you are close to the patients in the daily clinic and at the same time a driving force in developing nursing and interprofessional collaboration.
You will become part of a dedicated team with the department’s other 3 Clinical Nurse Specialists, distributed with 1 in each of our inpatient wards and outpatient clinics at respectively Kolding and Vejle Hospitals.
You will take an active role in establishing and developing your collaboration across departments and sites. Together you drive Excellent Nursing throughout the Cardiology Department.
You will, among other things,
- develop and anchor Excellent Nursing in the clinic
- identify clinical issues and translate them into concrete improvements in patient pathways
- support the learning culture through guidance, everyday simulation, teaching and collegial mentoring
- strengthen nursing professionalism and facilitate good processes across professional groups.
The position is divided approximately 50/50 between clinical tasks and development tasks. You will be part of the on‑call structure, including working every 4th weekend.
Who are you?
We place particular emphasis on your ability to create followership – professionally and relationally – and that you are robust and steady in a daily life with both operations and development.
We imagine that you
- are a nurse with a master's degree, preferably cand.cur., started on the professional master in collaboration between SDU and Lillebælt Hospital, or plans to start the program.
- have experience in cardiac medical or medical nursing
- have pedagogical competences and experience with teaching and clinical supervision – preferably also development and research tasks
- can create followership, relationships and trust across professional groups and across departments and sites
- work independently and structured and can prioritize tasks and processes with your manager.
Personally we value that you
- are clear and respectful in your communication and handle feedback constructively
- are curious, development‑oriented and have an eye for both detail and the whole in patient pathways
- are robust and stable in a daily life with both operations and development and maintain an overview and calm
- thrive on leading professionally with the patient’s perspective as a starting point
- share our ambition of Excellent Nursing and see professional and personal engagement – and active followership – as a natural part of your role.
We offer
- a central key role with real influence on nursing for heart patients
- a warm and strong work community with a high level of professionalism, strong interprofessional collaboration and room for both ambitions and humor
- close partnership with the Chief Nursing Officer, the other Clinical Nurse Specialists and clinical leads and key people
- networking, sparring and training in Excellent Nursing and The Southern Danish Improvement Model
- individually tailored onboarding program with mentor, potential discussion and targeted competence development.
Practical
- Employment: January 1, 2027 or as agreed
- Application deadline: December 1
