Companion wanted for a resident in Smørum

Companion sought for a 13-year-old boy in Smørum.

He is a positive and trustful boy whose great interest is gaming. He has cerebral palsy. He sits in an electric wheelchair, where the helper steers it. He is in the process of training to steer it himself. He has good speech and says himself what he wants, and what he does not want. He goes to school. When he is free from school, he needs to recharge, as he becomes overstimulated and tired quickly. He likes to recharge by using his iPad and watching YouTube.

On accompanying trips he can be encouraged to take a short break, where he looks at the iPad, after which you continue the activity. He is good at forming relationships but needs to get to know someone first.

The family has a rabbit, have previously had a dog and expect to get a dog in the near future - perhaps they will get a puppy next summer.

He would like to be accompanied to the cinema and e.g. see Spiderman and other good films, and to the museum and e.g. go to a game café or similar.

He is granted 15 hours per month.

Days and times are agreed with the citizen and parents. The companionship will often be on weekends or during holiday periods, it may also be weekday afternoons. The duration of the trips will be 3-4 hours.

You come around via the family’s handicap bus and perhaps occasionally by train/metro. It is an advantage that you have a driver's license, as you will drive their handicap bus.

The position as companion is a part-time position.

The companion scheme is always used for self-chosen activities outside the citizen's home.

The citizen covers all expenses associated with the accompaniment.

Hourly wage

Weekdays: approx. 170 DKK

Saturday: approx. 180 DKK

Sunday: approx. 190 DKK.

The pay varies depending on where in the country the citizen lives.
