Companionship and Personal Care for a Man with Dementia in Allerød

Do you have experience with personal care and a desire to create safety and presence for a man with dementia? We are looking for a permanent employee for a 1:1 assignment at a nursing home in Allerød.

About the task

You will become a permanent support for a 60-year-old man with advanced Alzheimer's dementia, who lives at a nursing home in Allerød. He has previously been very active and still enjoys going on trips and getting fresh air. He is no longer self-sufficient and needs extensive support for personal care and daily activities.

Your task will be to assist him with personal care, including bathing, toilet visits, dressing and meals. You will also assist with transfers where a ceiling lift, toilet chair and comfort wheelchair are used. The task also includes administration of medication and applying medicinal creams.

An important part of the work is to create good moments through presence, conversation and walks outside the nursing home. You should be able to adapt activities to the man's daily condition and meet him with calm, patience and care.

About you

You can be a trained pedagogue, social and health care assistant, social and health assistant, nurse or unskilled with relevant experience.

We would like you to have experience with dementia, personal care and use of a lift. You are comfortable performing care tasks and thrive on working closely with one resident, where continuity and presence are in focus.

You have a calm and caring approach and can use humor and conversation to create good contact. At the same time you enjoy going out for walks and can tailor your support to the man's needs.

Work hours

The position is 13 hours per week, distributed over one shift, which is expected to take place on Mondays from 08.00–21.00. The weekday may vary, and therefore flexibility in planning is required.
