About the job

Are you passionate about making tasty food with vegetables at the center? And do you thrive in a kitchen where you can bring your full chef skills into play, contribute with new ideas and become part of a strong community?

Then you might be our new chef at the University of Copenhagen.

A kitchen with green ambitions and strong camaraderie

In our canteen at the University of Copenhagen's SCIENCE campus, we serve lunch every day to about 400-500 students and staff, as well as meeting catering. Here we work across two concepts, both focused on quality, flavor and good ingredients:

  • Wicked Rabbit – a 100% vegetarian concept with a focus on plant-based dishes, colorful salads and signature dishes.
  • Food & Co – modern buffet with hot dishes, open-faced sandwiches and classics in a contemporary interpretation.

Although the concepts are different, everyday life is closely connected. You will become part of a committed team of seven colleagues, where we help each other, share ideas and have fun while we work. At the same time we are part of a larger kitchen community across three canteens, where we also lend a hand when needed.

Your new everyday life – variation and room for creativity

With us we rotate between the kitchen's different stations, so you get a varied daily life and the opportunity to use your craft broadly.

You will, among other things,

  • Prepare hot meat dishes and vegetarian dishes
  • Create colorful salads and green dishes for our Wicked Rabbit salad bar
  • Work with open-faced sandwiches and cold presentations
  • Contribute new ideas for menus and dishes
  • Collaborate with your colleagues to ensure quality and good dining experiences every day

Who are you?

You are a trained chef and want to use your professional expertise in a kitchen where the green aspect plays a central role. You are curious about ingredients, flavors and new preparation methods – and you enjoy switching between different tasks in the kitchen.

As a colleague you are positive, helpful and actively contribute to the community. You take responsibility for your tasks and thrive in a kitchen where we help each other and share responsibility for the result.

Why should you be part of our kitchen?

With us you have the opportunity to cultivate your passion for food in a kitchen where there is room for both professional development and good collegial relationships.

We offer

  • A permanent position of 37 hours
  • The working hours are generally Monday to Friday from 7:00 to 14:54. There may be evening and weekend work about 6-10 times a year, distributed among the colleagues
  • A varied daily life, where you work with both the hot and cold kitchen
  • Opportunity to develop professionally and work with green gastronomy
  • A strong collegial community with room for sparring, ideas and good humor
  • Good employment terms under the collective agreement with 11% employer-paid pension, 10% flex account, health scheme and employee discounts

We would like to start as soon as possible, but we are happy to wait for the right person.

Are you our new chef?

Then send your CV with a few lines about yourself. We invite to interviews on an ongoing basis and hire as soon as we have found the right person.

We look forward to hearing from you!
