About the job

A rare opportunity: Clear and collaborative coordinator for the welfare initiative sought for Albertslund Municipality

Albertslund is a green municipality with large ambitions. We are proud of our municipality and take care in our tasks and efforts for citizens, associations, and businesses. We are one municipality and one organization. We have engaged and skilled employees and a culture of collaboration that crosses departments and levels. This makes Albertslund Municipality a good place to work.

From 2027, Albertslund Municipality is establishing a welfare initiative group with 10 positions in the Department of Elderly, Health and Social. Therefore we are seeking a clear and engaged coordinator for a 30-hour-per-week position.

The welfare initiative is an activation offer for job-ready individuals who have recently become unemployed, and for citizens subject to work obligations who may be further from the labor market. It is also expected that Ukrainian recipients of cash benefits will be covered by the work obligation and thus will form part of the target group.

Albertslund Municipality already has a welfare initiative group at Materialgården. You will therefore become part of a professional environment where there is an opportunity for sparring, knowledge sharing, and joint development of the initiative. It is also important that you can work independently, as you will be located in a different office space than the existing team. Collaboration and coordination across areas will, however, be a central part of the role.

Your main duties

  • To plan and allocate daily tasks so that the citizens experience a structured and meaningful everyday life in the welfare initiative
  • To manage places and record attendance in close cooperation with a coordinator from the job center
  • To collaborate with care centers, assistive device depot and other municipal workplaces on relevant tasks, for example clearing up, organizing goods and laundry, participation in meals and activities, and light outdoor maintenance
  • To introduce citizens to workplace culture, responsibility and collaboration through clear guidance and practical examples
  • To support participants' Danish language development and contribute to good communication in the workplace
  • To ensure a safe and welcoming reception of new citizens into the initiative
  • To follow up with the workplaces where citizens are attached, both at care centers and at other locations
  • Tasks will develop in step with the initiative. Therefore, administrative and other relevant tasks may also be included in the office community you become part of.

We imagine that you

  • have a relevant professional background, for example as a social educator, experienced social and health worker, or an occupational therapist
  • thrive in working with people with different prerequisites, including citizens with personal or physical challenges and citizens with various cultural and linguistic backgrounds
  • can create structure and a sense of belonging in a group and motivate each citizen to participate actively
  • have an eye for development – both of the function and of each citizen's possibilities – and approach the assignment with initiative and curiosity
  • are patient, listening, and persistent and can set a clear and respectful direction
  • work systematically with follow-up and can set concrete goals and direction for each effort
  • have strong collaboration skills and actively contribute to an open and trusting cooperation with colleagues and partners
  • keep an overview in a varied daily life and communicate clearly and respectfully with both citizens, colleagues and partners
  • can operate in English in daily life. It is an advantage if you also speak Russian, Ukrainian, Turkish or another relevant language
  • work independently, take responsibility and plan your tasks with a reliable overview

Albertslund will be the sustainable city for children, the green and for communities. We are in the process of developing the city so there will be room for even more than the current approx. 28,000 inhabitants – for example with the new urban areas Vridsløse, Coop Byen and Hersted, as well as a light rail station opening in 2025.

At the same time, we in Albertslund Municipality are leaders in the green agenda, which includes how we think the green into the city, both now and in the future. This demands how we develop the operation of our city, roads and paths and the many green areas that Albertslund is known for.
