Create a safe morning routine for a 5-year-old boy

Do you have experience with children and do you thrive on creating calm and predictable environments? Then we are looking for you for a fixed morning task four days a week.

About the task

You will become part of the morning routine for a 5-year-old boy with a rare chromosome condition. He is cheerful and talks a lot, and he needs support with the practical routines in the morning and to get ready for the day's activities.

The boy uses a walker and also uses a wheelchair. He can, among other things, crawl into his wheelchair and stand up at a table. When switching between activities his mood can change quickly. Therefore it is important that you contribute with calm, structure and predictability throughout the morning.

When you arrive, you help the boy get dressed and with the stretching exercises he needs, by agreement. You will receive training in the exercises. You also assist with personal care in the form of diaper changes and give him breakfast.

Thereafter you prepare him for the bus. He walks up onto the bus by himself, where he is helped into the seat and strapped in. The wheelchair and walker must subsequently be hoisted into the bus.

A portion of the weekly hours is also spent on general cleaning in the home on Fridays, e.g., dusting, vacuuming and mopping the floor.

About you

You can be a pedagog or unskilled with relevant experience. The most important is that you have experience with children and are comfortable with practical care and personal care, including diaper changes.

You meet the boy with a calm and clear approach and can create structure around the morning's various routines and transitions. You should also be willing to learn the concrete stretching exercises and routines around his aids.

Working hours

The position is 8 hours per week distributed from Tuesday to Friday.

The starting time is 05:45–07:45. There may be an opportunity to start at 06:00 after further agreement.

The boy is typically picked up by the bus around 07:20–07:30. The remaining working time is gathered and used for cleaning in the home on Fridays.
