Daycare Manager Wanted at Børnehuset Vægterparken

Do you want to lead a daycare center in development – together with a strong management team?

We are seeking a development-oriented and clear early childhood leader who is eager to lead the continued development of the pedagogical quality at Børnehuset Vægterparken.

You will become the leader of your own house with the opportunity to leave a clear professional and managerial mark. You are not alone in the task. The house's deputy head is an important collaboration partner in both daily operations and pedagogical development.

An early childhood center with ambitions

Vægterparken consists of two departments, a nursery with 2 rooms and a kindergarten with 3 rooms. We have an ambition to create a clear shared direction for the pedagogical work. It requires a leader who can see opportunities, create engagement, and bring development to life in practice.

Together with the staff you must create a shared understanding of what good pedagogical quality means in Vægterparken. You must be close to practice and interested in the pedagogical work that takes place in the rooms. At the same time you must be able to lift your gaze and assess whether the organization, learning environments, relationships, play and child communities support the direction you have set.

This means that in each of Tårnby Municipality's 34 daycare services there is both a leader and a deputy head.

Instead of cluster management, we in Tårnby Municipality work with a binding leadership network. This means that you will become part of a strong leadership network together with the leaders of the day care centers that are in Vægterparken's school district. In the leadership network, daycare leaders meet every 6 weeks for sparring and professional discussion. There is a high degree of team spirit, shared responsibility and collaboration to solve the tasks.

In addition, as the daycare leader in Vægterparken you will

• a competent leadership team with a deputy head with whom you can share the leadership task
• engaged staff consisting of both educators, PAUs and assistants
• a strong collaboration with a competent municipal staff consisting of pedagogical consultants, pedagogical mentors, a play patrol and a skilled administration
• a competence center that supports your daycare and meets every 6 weeks with cross-disciplinary resource persons from PPR and the pedagogical guidance team
• good backing and close leadership from an area manager and strategic collaboration with the center chief.

A leadership role with both community and clear responsibility

Together with the deputy head you shall create an overview, ensure daily operations, support the staff and drive the pedagogical development. You as the daycare leader have the overall management responsibility.

Additionally, your tasks will be

• to set clear goals for the core task and ensure progress in the pedagogical development
• to create coherence between the municipality's goals and the local pedagogical practice
• staff management, well-being, competence development and recruitment
• a good and trustful parent collaboration
• economy, resource management and safe operation.

We envision that you

We assume you have a pedagogical professional background and experience from the daycare sector. In addition, you are an experienced leader who can both create clarity and direction and engage your staff in the shared leadership of the daycare.

Furthermore we emphasize that you as a leader

• can set a clear professional pedagogical direction and create followers around it
• have the courage to challenge existing practice in a respectful and constructive way when you see a need for development
• can run a daycare with good pedagogical quality that children and parents are happy with and thrive in
• can stand at the helm of a safe and dialogue-based parent collaboration and a strategic and close cooperation with the parent board
• can be the coordinator in cases where a family or child is having difficulties and needs help and support from the daycare and perhaps other parties in the municipality
• can create coherence between political decisions and practice in the daycares
• can work systematically with finances, operations and resources.

Salary and employment terms

The employment is governed by the applicable collective agreement with BUPL after negotiation.

The municipality's employment policy entails that references are obtained from previous and current places of work upon hire. If you have been employed in Tårnby Municipality, a reference will always be taken from here. A criminal record check and a child abuse register check must also be presented upon employment. Employment will be conditional on these being satisfactory.
