Dedicated and experienced kitchen assistant for our food school team at Blågård School (32 hours per week)

Madskolen is an integrated part of the school's daily life. Here we prepare daily food for around 450 students, and the students actively participate in the production themselves. Therefore we are looking for a colleague who both has good kitchen experience and a desire to work together with children and young people.

About you

We are looking for you who have relevant experience from kitchen, canteen, catering, restaurant, institutional kitchen or other food production.

Your specific professional background is not decisive. We primarily place weight on your practical skills and your desire to be part of a food school.

We place emphasis on that you

• have good experience with cooking and kitchen work
• have experience with producing food in large quantities
• have a good knowledge of raw materials and basic kitchen techniques
• work in a structured way and can keep an overview in a busy production
• are eager to work with children and young people
• can work independently while also entering into close collaboration with the rest of the team
• have experience with hygiene, self-check and cleaning
• are responsible and contribute to a good collegial tone

Your tasks

You will become part of the daily production and will work closely with both colleagues and students.

Your tasks will include, among others

• preparation and cooking of the day's meals
• production of hot and cold dishes
• Plating and preparation for service
• initiating students in the kitchen
• serving and cleaning of kitchen machines and equipment
• washing up, tidying and cleaning
• participation on equal terms with the team in the daily planning and organization of the production

About Madskolen

A food school is not a traditional canteen. The students are an active part of the kitchen's daily life and participate in the production. Through working with the food they gain experience with raw materials, cooking, collaboration and responsibility.

We make as much as possible from scratch and work with nutritious, tasty, climate-responsible and inspiring food. The Madskolen at Blågård School has been in operation since 2024 and has strong support among the school's students, parents and the rest of the staff at Blågård.

You will become part of an experienced team with sweet and committed colleagues, where we help each other and lift the tasks together. We have an informal daily life with room for good humor while also emphasizing good culinary craftsmanship, collaboration and good experiences with the students.

Employment terms

Since Madskolen follows the school's holidays, the working hours will be distributed over 41 weeks. The weekly working hours are therefore more than 32 hours to be able to take holidays/time off during the schools' holidays.

Salary and employment terms follow the applicable collective agreement and the rules in Copenhagen Municipality.

In connection with the appointment we will obtain child and criminal record checks as well as references.
