About the job

Are you a trained dentist with several years of experience from municipal dental care, and do you have leadership ambitions? Then read on below.

We are seeking a dentist who wants to be clinic manager at our dental clinic in Ørestad and a dentist who wants to be clinic manager in a maternity cover at our dental clinic on Islands Brygge. Both clinics have five chairs. The positions are with a working week of 35 hours with start January 1, 2027 or as soon as possible thereafter.

Why work with us?

You will be working in Denmark's largest municipal dental service. The dental service encompasses a wide range of professionalism and expertise with good opportunities for professional development in many directions. We provide dental care for children and young people aged 0-21 in the City of Copenhagen, currently corresponding to almost 135,000 children and young people. We are a city-wide unit under the Children and Youth Administration with dental clinics spread across the city. We attach great importance to high professionalism and strive to provide the best offer to all patients.

We have 21 clinic managers in the Copenhagen Dental Service at the general clinics. As a clinic manager in Copenhagen's Child and Adolescent Dental Service you will be part of a large collegial network together with other clinic managers in the Dental Service. The network is well established and meets regularly to spar over both professional and managerial topics.

As a clinic manager in the Copenhagen Dental Service there will be opportunities to participate in both professional and managerial relevant training including the possibility to attend relevant modules on a Diploma in Leadership. In addition there will be both training and thorough introduction to the task expected in the role. As a new clinic manager you will also be assigned a mentor to consult with in the initial period.

Clinic manager tasks are solved in close collaboration with the immediate supervisor. In addition there is a close collaboration with the clinic's clinical assistant, who is responsible for coordination and handling of clinical assistant tasks.

The Copenhagen Municipality Dental Service has a central administration that supports the clinics with e.g. IT challenges, complaints handling, HR, legislation, etc. You will therefore always be able to find sparring and help in the organization. In addition, we have a central contact center that handles communication with our users regarding telephone and appointment books, etc.

What tasks will you solve?

Clinic manager tasks – administrative tasks (about 20% of the time)

  • As clinic manager in Copenhagen's Child and Adolescent Dental Service you will be responsible for the clinic's operations and development including prioritizing the clinic's resources in relation to risk groups, recall intervals, health-promoting activities, etc.
  • You will be responsible for - in close cooperation with the clinic team - planning and coordinating the work at the clinic.
  • You will be responsible for planning and quality assurance of the clinical development at the clinic including sparring with the clinic staff on professional topics and cases.

Dentist tasks

80% of your time will consist of dental professional tasks, such as patient treatment and related record keeping in a dental profession environment characterized by high quality and willingness to develop and spar. We perform all types of treatments. Always based on the child's/young person's age, growth and maturity.

Your competencies

Experience in the municipal area can be an advantage, but the most important is that you want to work with children and young people. There is an expectation that you can work independently and in a structured manner in an environment with a focus on high quality but also high productivity.

You should expect and thrive in a workday where a certain degree of unpredictability will always be present. A friendly, accommodating and appreciative approach to all patients is a necessity, and you must have the ability to engage in constructive dialogue with patients, parents and colleagues. You are ambitious and want to develop yourself and the clinic's staff professionally through daily sparring and continuing education. In addition it is required that you have obtained the right to independent practice in order to perform the role of clinic manager.

Employment terms

You are employed in accordance with the collective agreement for dentists and the Local wage formation agreement. When you work in the Child and Adolescent Dental Service, your working hours will usually be from 8.00-15.00 every day. In addition to five weeks' vacation and five holiday days, the dental service is closed for a further 20 days per year.

In your application you should give your view on why you are the right person to solve the two basic tasks that the position contains. Remember to upload your CV and educational certificates with your application. In connection with the employment we will obtain criminal and child protection checks.
