Job Description
We are fully underway with implementing our new study regulations, which means that we will work more in interdisciplinary teams. This means we need instructors who are broadly based, but who also enjoy delving into their professional interests. You will have the opportunity to influence and develop the teaching, learning processes and the community. The implementation of the new study regulations will be gradual. We have started with 1st semester Bachelor and 1st semester Master from September 2026.
We have vacant positions within several disciplines, and we will do our best to meet your wishes and to utilize your particular competences within dentistry as well as possible. Therefore you are encouraged in your application to describe which particular interests and competences you have within the field. Please also state which days you can work.
Teaching at the clinic takes place Monday-Friday between 8:15 and 13:50 (1st and 2nd belt). The hours are distributed by agreement, and typically 2 belts per day are offered. There will also be 1-2 evening meetings per semester. Each semester is 15 weeks with the students, and in weeks without students we learn together, follow up on patients, refer new patients into the teaching, and enjoy ourselves with our colleagues.
You are part of facilitating knowledge, instructing, guiding and advising dental students in practical skills at the institute's teaching clinics. Here you will interact with students from 4th semester to 10th semester. In the clinical practice we always work from the applicable guidelines and didactic/pedagogical principles to ensure that the learning framework is optimal and that our students thrive, just as we have a strong focus on giving and receiving feedback continuously.
As a clinical instructor you are also expected to take on other clinical tasks and teaching within several subject areas. It is expected that you keep yourself updated with the guidelines and guidelines used at the Odontological Institute.
You also get the opportunity to develop your teaching competencies, and we therefore offer, among other things, case-based workshops on relevant didactic topics.
We offer evening courses and after-work meetings where you have the opportunity to catch up in the different subject areas and meet and spar with your colleagues. You also have the opportunity to "visit" a colleague and follow their teaching.
On a daily basis you will report to the heads of the subject areas and to the clinic director.
Qualifications
To be able to apply for the positions, you must have a dental graduate degree (odontologisk kandidateksamen). If you were educated outside Denmark, your education must be approved by the Danish Patient Safety Authority. You must also have obtained the right to practice independently. The students work under your authorization.
For employment in the Orthodontics section it is a prerequisite that you have obtained authorization as a specialist in Orthodontics.
Salary and terms of employment
Employment is according to the applicable collective agreement for clinical instructors/department dentists in dentistry between the Ministry of Finance and AC (Danish Dental Association). Expected start date 15 January 2027.
Before you start, there will be an introduction to, among other things, the clinic including the electronic patient journal.
Clinical instructors/department dentists are employed outside the school's closure periods; this means that service time is run off according to the institute's current plan for clinic operation. The teaching tasks take place while the students are in the clinic. The service time can thus vary for the spring and autumn semesters, and the hours are allocated according to the teaching plans.
Clinical instructors are employed for a 2-year period with the possibility of a subsequent extension for 2 years or permanent employment.
Department dentists are employed for a 3-year period with the possibility of subsequent permanent employment.
The employment procedure is further described in the Ministry's Regulation on the employment of scientific personnel at universities ( https://www.retsinformation.dk/eli/lta/2012/242 )
Qualifications requirements and job content are further described in Job structure for scientific personnel at universities ( https://jobportal.ku.dk/videnskabelige-stillinger/karriere-paa-ku/ )
