About the job

Are you passionate about improving conditions for children and young people, have you a flair for economics and analysis, and do you want to work closely with the political decision-making process? Then we have an exciting position for you.

In the Department of Children, Youth, Justice Area and Equality we work to realize political goals within the social sector in Greenland. As an AC Administration or Specialist (AC-fuldmægtig) you will among other things work with financial and professional analyses, projects, strategies and cross-cutting actions within the department's remit. You will also contribute to creating solid decision bases and service the political level, among other things through briefings to Naalakkersuisut, notes and responses to §37 questions.

The department is organized into four divisions: the Executive Secretariat, Strategy, Development and Law, the Justice Area and the Equality Office. In the department we value a work culture where everyone has the opportunity to contribute with development and new thinking to the organization. Therefore, it is an advantage if you are a collaborative, ambitious person who meets your colleagues with openness and interest. In return, you will be part of a workplace with engaged colleagues who support and respect each other.

Your job

You will join Strategy, Development and Law, which consists of nine employees with different professional backgrounds. The division works across the entire department's remit and plays a central role in ensuring that political decisions are translated into concrete actions and results. A substantial part of your work will be to contribute with an economic and analytical perspective on the department's initiatives. The work is varied and requires collaboration across divisions and professional boundaries, as well as the ability to take independent responsibility for your own case areas.

We offer

  • An exciting and meaningful job close to the political decision-making process.
  • Opportunity to work with complex and societally important projects that make a difference for children, youth and families in Greenland.
  • A dynamic working environment with engaged and ambitious colleagues who support and respect each other.
  • Good opportunities for professional and personal development through varied tasks and responsibilities.
  • Flexible working conditions focused on balancing work and private life.
  • A workplace with good colleagues and a focus on well-being and an informal tone.

Your tasks

  • Prepare economic and professional analyses, including contributing to budget follow-up, economic assessments and decision bases.
  • Develop and drive cross-cutting projects, strategies and initiatives within the department's remit.
  • Contribute to monitoring, evaluation and reporting, with a focus on economics.
  • Serve the political level through briefings to Naalakkersuisut, notes and responses to §37 questions.
  • Coordinate and follow up on ongoing projects and collaborate with colleagues, other departments, municipalities and other actors.

About you

  • Have a relevant academic qualification at master’s level.
  • Have a good economic understanding and are comfortable working with numbers, data, budgets and analyses.
  • Can translate complex economic and professional issues into clear decision bases.
  • Theoretical and practical knowledge of the social sector is desirable but not a condition.
  • Can work independently, in a structured and development-oriented manner.
  • Are skilled at communicating in writing and orally.
  • Can create an overview of many complex pieces of information.
  • Are good at collaborating with colleagues and external stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of Greenlandic societal conditions and culture is an advantage.
  • Preferably bilingual, but not a requirement.
