About the job

Would you like to help develop the future of acute nursing? Do you dream of working close to citizens, becoming part of a small and dedicated team, and making a noticeable difference in a local community where relationships matter? Then you may be the person we are looking for in the Acute Nursing on Fanø. At Esbjerg and Grindsted Hospitals we are well underway to establish Citizen-Centered Health. From 1 January 2027 the regional Acute Nursing will become a central part of the new department, which covers Fanø, Varde, Esbjerg, Billund and Vejen.

We are seeking nurses who want to help shape the future of acute nursing – close to the citizen in their own home and at the health and care placements on Fanø. Here you will have the opportunity to become part of the special community that characterizes a small team on an island, where proximity, collaboration and knowledge of the local community matter greatly.

Citizen-Centered Health is led by Chief Nurse Jane Birkebæk and Chief Doctor Bahareh B. Philipsen. The Acute Nursing is led by the senior nurse managers Hanne Osbæck and Winnie Lodberg Kristoffersen, who work in close dual leadership.

We prioritize presence-based leadership, dialogue and short paths from idea to action. We want to be close to employees and create frames where there is room for professional development, influence and joint solutions.

You will be part of a small local team on Fanø and at the same time part of a larger regional professional network, where we share knowledge, experiences and develop nursing across sectors.

About the job Acute Nursing plays a central role in ensuring high quality and continuity for citizens – especially in transitions between hospital, municipality and general practice.

You will, among other things, work with

  • Clinical assessments and observations of the citizen, including ABCDE and vital values.
  • Holistic nursing assessments.
  • Initiation and follow-up on physician-ordered treatment.
  • Instrumental nursing tasks, including IV treatment, catheterization and tube feeding.
  • Diagnostic and microbiological investigations.
  • Telephone and virtual counseling as well as professional sparring with municipal nursing.
  • Cross-sectoral and interprofessional collaboration around the citizen’s course.

Acute Nursing must be able to handle tasks within the nurses’ reserved area. You will have the opportunity to bring your nursing competencies into play in a daily life where independence, clinical insight and good collaboration are essential.

We expect that you

  • Have strong clinical competencies and be able to provide clear clinical leadership.
  • Can work independently and make professional decisions.
  • Can build good relationships and collaborate across professions, sectors and municipalities.
  • Can maintain an overview in a daily life that can be busy and unpredictable and provide opportunities for professional deepening.
  • Want to develop both professional skills, workflows and collaboration forms.

We offer

  • Opportunity to help establish and shape a completely new department.
  • A presence-based dual leadership with short path to management.
  • A high degree of influence on the development of Acute Nursing.
  • An varied daily life with exciting professional challenges.
  • Close professional sparring with doctors in Citizen-Centered Health.
  • A strong collaboration with municipalities, general practice and other partners.
  • A small local collegial community on Fanø with room for collaboration, professional sparring and shared responsibility.
  • connection to a larger regional professional community where we develop together.

Have we piqued your curiosity? We are already a employee group looking forward to welcoming new colleagues – and we hope you would like to become part of the team on Fanø.
