Design Lead for exciting rail projects in the field of catenary systems

As a design/engineering project manager at Banedanmark you gain professional influence throughout the project lifecycle and become part of renewing the entire railway at once. You work with catenary systems in close cooperation with consultants and contractors and have a daily life with large cross-disciplinary interfaces to, among others, the Electrification Programme, signaling systems and track renewal.

We are in Banedanmark renewing the entire railway at once. So not only will you be working with catenary systems, but you will also need to coordinate with other areas that are also renewing the railway, including the Electrification Programme, the signaling systems, the implementation of track renewals, modernization of platforms and stations, reconstruction of bridges and other smaller upgrade and maintenance projects on the respective sections. This results in a lot of cross-disciplinary work that requires keeping your wits about you when you come to the different interfaces.

Projects, development and professional influence throughout the project lifecycle

You will be linked to the projects that best match your experience and qualifications. The projects are diverse in character and size. They include both the installation of new catenary systems on sections that are not yet electrified and the replacement or adjustment of existing catenary systems in connection with renewal projects.

In daily life you will typically report to the project manager. Your immediate supervisor will be the section head for the design managers.

Who are you?

You come with a technical educational background as an engineer or similar and are interested in technical civil engineering projects within rail or catenary systems.

You may be relatively early in your career and want to develop your competencies in a strong professional environment. You may also have several years of experience with design, procurement processes, interface coordination, project follow-up or project auditing from larger construction projects.

It is an advantage if you have experience from supplier, consultant or contractor industry and preferably from railway projects, but it is not a requirement.

Regardless of your experience, you have a good technical understanding, you work in a structured way and are able to keep an overview of several simultaneous tasks. You thrive in collaboration with different disciplines and are good at building relationships across organizations and projects.

As a person you are curious, solution-oriented and eager to actively contribute to the technical solutions. You communicate fluently in Danish and English, both written and spoken.

Salary

You are employed under the currently applicable agreement between the Ministry of Finance and a number of academic organizations for academics in the state.

You will be placed based on academic seniority and experience as AC employee at base level or senior consultant according to the applicable agreement, which you find here and the Employee and Competence Agency's salary overview, which you find here .

Depending on your qualifications and competencies there is a possibility of negotiating a supplement. There will be an employer-financed pension scheme of 18.07%.
