About the job

Are you passionate about nutrition and good meals, and can you contribute at a high professional level with a focus on a positive patient experience? Are you happy to work around children, and ready to prepare and serve all their favourite dishes?

The Pediatric Kitchen at Rig Hospital is located in the Juliane Marie Center, in the Pediatric Oncology Department, but is about to move to completely new surroundings when Mary Elizabeth's Hospital is completed in 2027. You therefore have a unique opportunity to become part of the development together with other colleagues in the pediatric kitchen, where we are preparing for a new dietary concept and testing before moving in.

We are seeking a skilled colleague who will help ensure that patients' nutritional needs are met during admission. The work includes among other things preparation, plating and serving of the day's three main meals, as well as snacks and light meals as needed.

You will be in direct contact with the patients and their families to a large extent, as our kitchen is open and connected to the dining room. For many of our children and families the kitchen is a sanctuary where you should be able to talk about big and small things while you also get something to eat. You must therefore be able to thrive in dialogue with patients and relatives who may be in critical condition.

Examples of tasks

  • Prepare, plate and serve food according to a fixed plan
  • Wash up, tidy up and keep clean
  • Perform self-check
  • Contribute to ensuring that patients' nutritional needs are met during the hospitalization
  • Help to create a positive impression of the mealtime experience and raise the culinary quality
  • Contribute good ideas for small and large events that can add a touch of sparkle to the children's stay

We imagine

  • That you are trained as a nutrition assistant, cook, Professional Bachelor in Nutrition and Health or another dietary education
  • That you are service-minded, inclusive and smiling
  • That you thrive in environments with children of all ages
  • That you contribute with professional knowledge within diet and nutrition to colleagues and patients' relatives
  • That you can work autonomously and are flexible
  • That you are a good contributor to the good working environment
  • That you are open to new initiatives and eager to contribute to development
  • That you speak, understand and write Danish
  • That you are stable

We offer

  • To be part of a tight-knit team where your colleagues come from mixed backgrounds, genders and ages
  • A meaningful job where you make a large difference for the patients and their relatives
  • A great opportunity to put your own mark on meals and experiences for the patients
  • An exciting workplace in development, with the prospect of working at the new pediatric hospital Mary Elizabeth's Hospital, which is currently being built.

Employment terms

Permanent position 32 hours per week.

Employment on 1 January 2027 or by agreement.

Working hours will be from 06:30 to 19:00 with weekend duty every 4th weekend. We serve meals all year round, which is why there is also work on holidays that are distributed among colleagues in common.

Salary and employment terms are in accordance with the applicable collective agreement for non-managers in the health sector's area

A child certificate must be presented upon employment.
