Do you want to help create better life chances for children and young people and set the direction for one of Randers Municipality's most important strategic agendas?

Randers Municipality is seeking a new Director of Children and School. You will be responsible for Children, School, Family, Secretariat as well as Finance and Administration. The area employs about 3,000 staff and daily has contact with around 16,500 children.

The position is a central top leadership role in one of the country’s largest municipalities. You will be part of the overall management of the municipality and will also play a key role in Future Randers Municipality – the council’s and the municipality’s large strategic change effort. Here the ambition is to create better life chances for more citizens through, among other things, education, employment and well-being.

As director you thus get both responsibility for a large and complex organization and an opportunity to influence some of Randers Municipality's most important strategic agendas.

You will become part of an executive management team that works collegially, helps each other and takes joint responsibility for the municipality's development, and you will take over leadership of an experienced senior management group with clear professional competencies.

In the coming period there will, among other things, be particular management attention to capacity in the daycare area, quality and results in primary education, economy and prioritization as well as the coherence between general and special education areas. Additionally, work with early and coherent interventions for children and young people in vulnerable positions.

We are seeking an experienced and trust-evoking leader with municipal experience and a secure view of the whole. You have solid leadership experience, preferably at director level and at minimum with management of managers. You create followership, set direction and give capable managers real responsibility and managerial room. Insight into the children and youth sector is an advantage, but the essential is your ability to lead the whole and navigate safely in the municipal reality.
