Director of Children and School

Randers Municipality is seeking a new Director for Children and School. You will be responsible for Children, School, Family, Secretariat as well as Finance and Administration. The area employs about 3,000 staff and has daily contact with around 16,500 children.

The position is a central senior leadership role in one of the country's largest municipalities. You will become part of the municipality's overall leadership and also play a key role in The Future Randers Municipality – the council's and the municipality's major strategic change program. The aim here is to create better life chances for more citizens through, among other things, education, employment and well-being.

As director you thus take on both the responsibility for a large and complex organization and the opportunity to influence some of Randers Municipality's most important strategic agendas.

You will become part of a management team that works collegially, helps each other and takes joint responsibility for the municipality's development, and you will take over the leadership of an experienced management group with clear professional competencies.

In the coming period there will, among other things, be particular leadership attention to the capacity of the day-care area, quality and results in primary school, finance and prioritization as well as the coherence between general and special areas. In addition, there is work with early and coherent interventions for children and young people in vulnerable positions.

We are seeking an experienced and trustworthy leader with municipal experience and a confident eye for the whole. You have solid managerial experience, preferably at director level and at minimum with management of principals. You create followers, set direction and give capable managers real responsibility and managerial space. Insight into the children and youth area is an advantage, but the decisive thing is your ability to lead the whole and navigate safely in the municipal reality.
