Then it's almost certainly you we need to take the helm as the crossing manager for the Ferry Ida.

We are looking for a committed and experienced crossing manager who can contribute to development and safe operation of one of Denmark's oldest wooden ferries.

The Ferry Ida is one of Denmark's oldest wooden ferries, which every summer transports happy tourists and locals between Bogø and Stubbekøbing, on the Grønsund waterway.

We now seek a new crossing manager who has competencies in safe ferry operation, ISM, renovation, duty rosters and much more.

We highly prioritise that our guests on board have a good experience, so you must also be able to motivate and support the crew in that post. The ferry Ida has been designated as a historic sailing monument and is part of Danish cultural heritage. The ferry is well preserved and has a large supporters' association, Idas venner behind it, which during the summer offers various special sails and events, which you will also need to communicate and develop together with.

The ferry is also part of several national and international cycling routes and a popular excursion destination for locals, cycling tourists and many families, so you will be involved in projects and new initiatives in different contexts.

The daily life in the municipality is shaped by great engagement from citizens and politicians; interest in maritime matters is high. Therefore we place emphasis on good service and the joy of creating visible results. We are looking for a new crossing manager who will contribute to providing good service on several levels both internally and externally. We will greatly appreciate if you have a passion for older ships and all the nostalgia that comes with it.

We would like you to have this

• Possession of the necessary certificates
• Experience with smaller vessels
• Professional knowledge
• Service-minded, approachable and smiling
• Strong IT skills
• Experience with duty rosters
• Familiar with ISM
• Experience with ferry operation
• Experience with maintenance of older wooden ships
• Technical knowledge relating to shipping would be a clear advantage, but not a requirement.

• Take responsibility for creating, maintaining and nurturing relationships with customers, the support association and locals.
• Understand the importance that the paperwork must be in order and be capable of this task, which at times can be IT-heavy.
• Have experience coordinating and preparing duty rosters.
• Have experience with foundations

Salary

Salary and terms of employment are determined according to the applicable collective agreement between KL and FOA.

About us

The Ferry Ida is one of Denmark's oldest wooden ferries, and sails between Bogø and Stubbekøbing from May 1 to September 30 as well as week 42.

The ferry accommodates 100 people and 12 cars.

The crew consists of 4 monthly-paid employees, and a few hourly-paid substitutes who join during holidays and illness.
