About the job

Do you want to develop solutions that make everyday life easier for your colleagues and citizens? Do you thrive in combining code, integrations and automation – and finding the best solution? Then perhaps we have your next job in Fredericia Municipality.

We work with automation across the entire organization. We build software robots and applications and integrate systems so that manual workflows become easier, and data creates value where it makes a difference.

We are looking for 2-3 new colleagues for our automation team – developers who are curious about both the technology and the everyday life in which the solutions must operate.

Your tasks

You will have good opportunities to shape your role as a developer and to influence which tasks and technologies you will work with.

Your tasks will include

  • Develop and maintain automations with UiPath and Power Automate Desktop and Cloud
  • Develop solutions in Python and create integrations between systems via APIs
  • Develop and maintain web apps in Python with Flask
  • Build and maintain data flows and integrations in Apache NiFi
  • Develop applications in Power Apps with SharePoint as a data source
  • Understand and challenge workflows in dialogue with the organization and our process consultant
  • Ensure quality through testing, documentation, version control and good development practices
  • Troubleshoot and further develop existing solutions so they operate reliably in everyday life.

We choose the tool according to the task. Therefore you will have the opportunity to work across technologies and help assess when a task is best solved with a robot, an API, a Python script or an application.

Our technologies

You will work with UiPath, Python, Flask, Apache NiFi, Power Automate Desktop and Cloud, Power Apps and SharePoint.

We also work with SQL and databases, including PostgreSQL and Microsoft SQL Server. We record our tasks and changes in OpenProject.

You do not need to have experience with everything. We emphasize that you have a solid foundation in development or automation and a desire to learn new tools.

Infrastructure and stable operations

We have among other things an UiPath environment (DEV/TEST and PROD) and three Linux servers, where we use Webmin for administration. Here run among other things Apache NiFi and Python-based solutions.

You do not need to be a specialist in server operations, but we would like you to be interested in the infrastructure behind the solutions and how we ensure stable operations.

Who are you?

You have practical experience with development, integrations and automation. Your educational background can vary – the most important thing is that you can build solutions, understand their use and take responsibility for quality. We imagine that you

  • have experience with some of our core technologies and willingness to learn the rest
  • work in a structured way and document so that others can take over and further develop your solutions
  • think about error handling, security and maintenance from the start
  • are curious about the organization's needs and can explain technical possibilities in an understandable language
  • share knowledge, seek sparring and contribute to common solutions
  • can speak and write Danish.

Experience from a municipality or another public organization is an advantage, but not a requirement.

About the department and the team

Automation is part of the Department of Finance and Automation, which belongs to the central staff HR, Finance and IT. Across the department we work with automation and administrative financial tasks focusing on quality, efficient workflows and maximizing the use of digital opportunities. For us, there is room to breathe and an informal tone, and we emphasize that we thrive and get along well together.

In the automation team there are already four colleagues who work with processes, automation and Xflow. We have a broad collaboration surface and work closely with the IT department on the technical infrastructure as well as with colleagues across the municipality's many subject areas. It can be everything from elderly care, schools and day nurseries to job center, culture and technology. Together we develop solutions that make everyday life easier and contribute to more efficient workflows.

You will have a varied daily life with good opportunities to influence the technical solutions and develop your competences through professional sparring and new tasks. You will become part of a professional community where we discuss, prioritize and develop automations together. We help each other, share our knowledge and take shared responsibility for the quality of our solutions, while also prioritizing well-being and professional development.
