Your tasks

The position is linked to the research project ACUTE , which investigates how artifact-inspired robots can express social signals through form and movement without resembling humans or animals. The project combines research in design, interaction and robotics and works with the development and evaluation of experimental robot prototypes.

As an AC TAP your main tasks will be

  • development of artifact-inspired robot prototypes for use in the research project
  • rapid prototyping, including work with 3D printing and laser cutting
  • programming of robot movements and behavior
  • contribution to the design and shaping of prototypes
  • practical support in connection with the evaluation and testing of prototypes
  • collaboration with the project’s researchers on the development, further development and documentation of the project’s solutions

You will join the project group and have the opportunity to contribute to the research process through both technical development work and experimental testing.

Your competencies

We expect that you have

  • a relevant educational background in IT product development, design, computer science or a related area
  • experience with programming
  • experience with design processes and rapid manufacturing/prototyping
  • interest in interaction design, robotics or related research areas

It would also be advantageous if you have experience with the development of physical prototypes and work in a structured manner with technical development processes.

Personal qualifications

We value that you

  • have good collaboration skills and thrive in a cross-disciplinary research environment
  • work independently and in a structured manner
  • have good communication skills
  • contribute positively to a good working environment

We offer

You will become part of an engaged research environment with a focus on developing new technological solutions and research-based innovation. The position provides the opportunity to work closely with researchers in design, interaction technology and robotics and to gain experience with research-related prototype development.
