About the job

Do you think that children are some of the most intelligent and fun people to be with? Then you might be our new colleague!

We are seeking a physiotherapist for 30 hours per week, who has knowledge about children’s motor development and an interest in pedagogy. You will become part of the Resource Center, where you together with the educational staff will translate your professional knowledge into play, movement and developing learning environments for children aged 0-6 years.

About us and the position

The Resource Center serves the day care centers in the districts Bogense and Glavendrup in North Funen Municipality. Your closest colleagues will be four skilled resource pedagogues, of whom one is trained as a motor skills facilitator.

We want a physiotherapist colleague who can both help and provide professional sparring when staff meet children who are challenged in their motor development. First and foremost we are looking for a colleague who can bring their physiotherapeutic expertise into play in the pedagogical learning environments and child communities.

We do not view motor development as something that primarily occurs through individual training programs. We want to create motor participation opportunities for all children through play, movement, everyday routines and pedagogical activities in the communities the children are already a part of.

Together with the educational staff you will therefore plan and carry out exciting movement activities in everyday life – both in kindergartens, nurseries and playgroups. You should have an interest in and knowledge of pedagogy and be eager to engage in professional and pedagogical reflections on how we best support the children’s development and participation.

The position is newly established, so we will find the best way together. However, it is important to emphasize that this is not a position where you will perform treatment or individual therapy. Your professional knowledge should be brought into play close to the child groups and in collaboration with the educational staff.

You will observe, be curious about the needs of child groups and together with the staff find solutions that create better participation opportunities and support all children's development.

Our shared view of children

We work from North Funen Municipality's shared view of children

“The individual child has opinions and thoughts that are meaningful. The child has the potential to think and the desire to communicate with and understand their surroundings. The child is autonomous, co-creating and a competent actor in their own life, who should develop and unfold themselves in community and with others.”

It is important to us that you share this view of children and can help translate it into practice.

That also means we focus on the child as part of a community. Therefore we are looking for solutions that not only address the individual child but also develop the pedagogical approaches, frameworks and communities that the child is a part of.

Your tasks

Your tasks will mainly consist of

  • creating participation opportunities for all children in the communities in close collaboration with the educational staff, management, Knowledge Center and PPR
  • supporting the motor development of child groups through play, movement and pedagogical activities
  • observing and analyzing the needs of child groups and together with the staff adjusting learning environments, activities and pedagogical practice
  • developing, planning and implementing special initiatives that support the children’s well-being, development and formation
  • translating physiotherapeutic knowledge about motor skills into concrete pedagogical measures that the staff can use in everyday life
  • developing and following up on work with motor skills both in the district and at a strategic level
  • documenting efforts as well as preparing and following up on action plans
  • guiding the educational staff and supporting professional reflection in practice
  • participating in meetings with colleagues and parents

Your competences

We imagine that you

  • have a strong professional profile with experience in the 0-6 year old area
  • include the child’s and children’s perspectives and use your knowledge about, among other things, the value of play and development through moments to ensure participation opportunities for all children
  • are eager to work pedagogically and can translate your physiotherapeutic expertise so that it makes sense in a pedagogical daily life
  • are curious and naturally engage in professional dialogues and reflection processes
  • can work independently and thrive with many different collaboration relationships
  • are passionate about practical work, professionally ambitious and keep yourself updated with the latest knowledge and research
  • can guide and inspire colleagues while you work together in practice
  • can collaborate with parents and cross-disciplinary partners and contribute to processes that make sense for all parties
  • are a trained physiotherapist

What you get with us

With us you get

  • a professional environment with high ambitions and expectations that we develop our practice for the benefit of the children
  • practice communities where children meet engaged and creative adults who involve the child’s perspective and see connections and wholes in the children’s lives
  • professional sparring and networks, both in our own district and across the municipality’s other resource centers
  • good opportunities to participate in relevant courses together with your colleagues
  • a job with a lot of freedom under responsibility
  • colleagues and leaders who enjoy going to work together
  • a health insurance scheme
  • opportunity for conversations with a wellbeing counselor
