About the job

Woman with Rett syndrome at 27 years old, seeking 2 new colleagues to share 4 24-hour shifts with duty time 07:00-07:00 over a 4-week rotation.

Would you take a day shift (døgnvagt) one or two Saturdays or Sundays during a month, perhaps a single day on a Thursday - so please read on.

We prefer you have experience from the industry,

Induction/training will take place as soon as possible.

Are you into long shifts that can be combined with your family life and provide freedom for this?

Joyful and active young woman

The woman needs help with all practical tasks, personal care as well as accompaniment to/from day care and afternoon activities. The young woman does not have any spoken language, so all communication is through facial expressions, sounds, eye movements, pictograms and a speech device. The perfect Saturday for her consists of sleeping long, relaxing on the sofa, eating an ice cream in the nearby ice cream shop and a trip to the beach. She also loves cycling, swimming, riding, swinging, and domestic coziness and should be supported in this.

You will be thoroughly trained by the regular staff on the team, but it is important that you have a natural interest in getting to know the woman and her needs. She requires 100% attention with constant eye contact and close physical contact, as otherwise she can become frustrated and outwardly acting out. She is a young woman who is a loving being and easy to like.

She lives at home with her parents and two siblings, where she has her own apartment attached to the family house. She should be supported in being an active part of the family on her own terms.

The woman has epilepsy, where some seizures require treatment in the form of Buccolam. Knowledge of epilepsy is not a requirement, but an advantage. In addition, the woman has a Mickey button (Mickey stoma), which you will be trained in. The woman receives supplementary nutrition via the tube but also eats herself with support from the aides.

Night shifts and hours

We are looking for 2 colleagues for our team. The fixed team consists of 4 women and our permanent substitutes, who currently consist of 2 women.

Due to the complexity of the arrangement it is important that we have a team around the woman who knows her well, therefore you, along with your colleagues, must be flexible. It is also important that you can see yourself in the position for a longer period, to create calm and continuity for the woman.

After training and good acquaintance with the girl, you will be offered your own 24-hour shifts - furthermore extra shifts that may be available due to vacation- or illness on the team.

24-hour shifts are 24 hours with duty time 07:00-07:00

The 4 available 24-hour shifts mainly on Saturdays and Sundays and there is a single day shift on a Thursday per month (4 week rotation).

All shifts are resting night shifts.

We are looking for someone with the following competencies

  • Good at reading other people
  • Interest in / already has knowledge of non-verbal communication
  • Robust and decisive
  • Trustworthy and responsible
  • Empathetic and inclusive

The young woman currently stays at home with the team until the right day care is found for her. It is expected she will start as soon as possible. Therefore it is a must that you have a driver's license and your own car, as the woman needs to be driven to/from day care as well as activities. You will receive travel reimbursement according to the state's annual tariff. You are responsible for registering your own driving and sending it to your team leader every month.

You will, together with your colleagues, be attached to a fixed team leader and there are good opportunities for ongoing professional sparring and knowledge sharing.
