Arealdrift in the Center for Areas and Real Estate is seeking a new operations leader for Drift Grøn. In Arealdrift we are about 80 employees with diverse professional backgrounds, education and experiences. As the municipality’s operations department, our tasks range from maintenance and upkeep of the municipality’s green areas and municipal cemeteries to inspection, operation and maintenance of public roads as well as winter service.

We are seeking a new operations leader for Drift Grøn who will create the best framework for the employees and help ensure that the municipality's operations are carried out efficiently and with high quality.

What is the framework for the job?

You must, in close cooperation with your leadership colleague in Drift Grøn, ensure good and proper management of the approximately 35 employees, where you will be responsible for about half. The staff is evenly distributed between you in daily operations.

We focus on more leadership close to the task, so employees see and can spar with their leadership in daily life. If you are a team player who believes that 2 plus 2 makes 5, we would be very happy to hear from you.

With reference to the Head of Area Operations you as the Operations Leader have responsibility for the daily operations, task solving and leadership of your own area. As Operations Leader you focus on high professionalism, operational optimization and good service for the benefit of the municipality's citizens and users. This happens in close interaction with your leadership colleague in Drift Grøn and your other colleagues in the leadership team.

What tasks will you handle?

On your to-do list are

• Daily prioritization and qualification of tasks
• Personnel management, including creating motivation, well-being and job satisfaction
• Optimal task management and consistency in task execution
• Systematic conduct of performance and development conversations (MUS), handling of sick leave, etc.
• Ensure good and clear collaboration internally and externally, including through good and clear communication
• Responsibility for your own drift team as well as management of the shared budget in Drift Grøn

You will be part of the team that on a rotating basis handles operational duty and winter service. At the same time you will be part of a leadership team focused on collaboration and cross-disciplinary task solving.

What do you bring with you?

• You have solid leadership experience within green drift/operations and are preferably familiar with the municipal sector from a similar position
• You are able to create overview and coherence between tasks at both strategic and operational levels
• You have experience with care plans and quality descriptions
• You have a sharp eye for constructive solutions
• You are a natural and positive role model when there is a need to challenge the “do-as-usual” culture
• You are curious about new methods and efficient task solving
• You know that as a leader in a political system you must nurture good relationships and work closely with the rest of the administration
• You are good at communicating in relation to citizen inquiries and councillor engagement
• You know that structure and plans are important to achieve goals

If you have knowledge in biodiversity, natural areas and the care of protected natural areas, that would be an extra plus. The most important is that you are willing to learn.

Salary and terms of employment

Employment as Operations Leader in Area Management, Center for Areas and Real Estate. Salary and terms of employment are negotiated in accordance with the applicable collective agreement and qualifications.
