About the job

As Educational Coordinator you will be a central part of the institute's administrative support for the educational area. Your work tasks will include:

  • Administrative support to the institute's educational lead and the deputy institute director for education
  • Recruitment and employment of instructors, mentors, MatLab helpers, and students for the institute's visitor service
  • Coordination of initiatives aimed at the students with a focus on retention, a good study environment and a smooth transition from upper secondary school to university
  • Coordination and operation of the institute's mentoring program, visitor service and the mathematics study cafe MatLab
  • Planning and delivery of brush-up courses for new students
  • Planning and participation in meetings, including the student forum, the educational committee and other forums
  • Occasionally planning and delivery of smaller conferences for the institute's scientific staff in collaboration with the rest of the secretariat staff
  • Diverse ad hoc tasks for the secretariat manager, the institute director and the vice-institute director for education

As a consequence of an increased workload in the education area the Institute of Mathematics has chosen to strengthen the administrative support for the institute's education. You will therefore work closely with the institute's current educational coordinator and the institute management. The specific distribution of both existing and new tasks will be arranged in collaboration with the current educational coordinator, the secretariat manager and members of the institute management, based on competencies, interests and the nature of the tasks.

We expect that you

  • Have a relevant academic education (preferably cand.scient./cand.scient.oecon.)
  • Are motivated to engage in close and constructive collaboration with scientific staff, technical-administrative personnel and students
  • Thrive in a dynamic and development-oriented organization with broad international contact
  • Work independently, in a structured and quality-conscious manner and be able to keep an overview in a busy daily life
  • Have strong communication and dissemination skills in both Danish and English

You will be part of the technical-administrative staff of ten employees reporting to the Secretariat Manager, Annette Møller.
